Hi. I've read the website documentation on this, but can't seem to get it to work correctly, trading live from a SC Trade window to Interactive Brokers. When initially entering a long order, the trigger price above & stop price below are the same distance from the entry price. Once the trigger price is reached, the stop should move to breakeven (the entry price), become a trailing stop and then start trailing immediately. I've entered the stop as a Triggered Trail Stop, with a Stop Offset of 10 pips, a Trail Offset of 0 pips and a Trigger Offset of 10 pips. However, once the initial target price is reached the stop does indeed move, but it moves to the last traded price and therefore closes the trade. I've played around with various numbers in the 3 offset boxes, but can't get it right. Help appreciated! TIA

What you are seeing is occurring because your "Trail Offset" is "0". This is telling the system to move the Stop order to the current price, as there is no offset. The Trail Offset needs to be the distance you want the Stop to be once it starts trailing the market. Refer to the following: Order Types: Triggered Trailing Stop Order Inputs (Trade Window >> Main) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
