I would like to set up multiple spreadsheet trading strategies for different times of day for the same symbol. For example 9:30-10:30am spreadsheet1 looks for setups and flattens and cancels all orders at 10:30am 10:30am-3pm spreadsheet2 looks for setups and flattens and cancels all orders at 3pm 3pm-4pm spreadsheet3 looks for setups and flattens and cancels all orders at 4pm Is this best practice, or is it better to combine all the setups into one giant spreadsheet and ignore entries if we already have a position/working orders outstanding from a different setup? It would be much easier to backtest and manage using multiple spreadsheets, but I'm just wondering if it will cause conflicts or there's any caveats I should know about with using multiple spreadsheets for the same symbol. I'm assuming it is okay as long as they start and end each of their "sessions" flat. |

Since you prefer to use multiple instances of the Spreadsheet System for Trading study on the same chart, you would control the times in J28, and the flatten time in J29. IMO, this would make it the easiest to manage multiple strategies. Also, be sure to name each one uniquely in the Spreadsheet Name field. However, if you have overlapping positions into the subsequent time window, you will need to use a single instance of that spreadsheet study. (It's not possible to reference another spreadsheet instance with the formulas.) |
