Hi John, Sierra Chart, My question relates to the Computer Hardware/Data Feed Configuration you would recommend for day trading e-mini S&P Futures, and would greatly value your advice on this. I will only use Sierra Chart as my charting & analytics provider as am very happy with the platform’s functionality, customization and the invaluable support. My understanding is that, once I open a broker trading account, l can then select (via the broker) the data feed to access real-time tick by tick data i.e., the broker will provide me access to real-time CME data through the data feed vendor to connect to my Sierra Charts. Question 1 Given the 2 types of feeds for market access (Execution & Data Only) will say, the CQG data feed provide me in your opinion, low latency, robust, and quality CME data to feed into my Sierra for both order routing and analytics? Or Would your Dinali – option 4 (CME with Market Depth for non-professional trading account for $11.4p/month be better as it could provide better connectivity seeing as it was developed in house? Question 2 I’m currently subscribed to your 10-minute delayed platform running, SC off a laptop. As I’m hoping to live trade soon, what RAM/CPU computer spec would you recommend for my trading setup using 3-4 monitors? (My trading style is short-term/scalping predominately using order flow – DOM & Footprint) Thank you as always for your help and any advice regarding the above will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards Stephen |

Question 1: Use our Denali Exchange Data Feed. Partially because it was developed in-house and therefore is setup to work well with Sierra Chart, but also because you have access to much more historical data (you can not get any prior contract data from CQG) and it is a high-performance data feed. Your statements have us a bit confused as to whether you will be using Sierra Chart for trading. If you are, then we recommend using our Teton Order Routing Service. Again, this is an in-house built service so it works well with Sierra Chart (it only works with Sierra Chart) and has low-latency. You will find the information on this service at the following link, and a list of brokers at Step #2 of the Setup Instructions on this page: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing Question 2: This is hard for us to answer, as there are just so many variables. Some things to consider: - One of the primary things is to ensure you have Solid State drives, preferably NVME, for where you store your Sierra Chart data. - Sierra Chart is not multi-threaded in the core application, but there is another thread used for the data feed. So you do not need a system with a lot of cores. Just make sure you have enough to cover the number of instances that you will be running (each instance will be a single thread) along with the data feed. - At least 16GB of memory. - We recommend an NVIDIA graphics card, in order to allow you to use OpenGL properly (you will need to deal with this in relation to multiple monitors) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi John, Thanks for your detailed explanation, really helpful. Yes, most definitely will be using Sierra Chart for trading too. So, if I use AMP Future as my broker, will they have an option for me to install the Teton feed for order routing enabling me to trade using Sierra Chart? So I use the Denali Exchange Data Feed(is this data only? Just a quote feed for analytics?) Plus Teton as the execution feed? I'll look at the link on Teton you've sent me. Many Thanks Stephen |

AMP will give you the option to use the Teton Order Routing for your order routing (or make sure you tell them that it is what you want to use). There is nothing to install relative to the Teton Order Routing. You will just need to setup your Sierra Chart so that it is pointing to your Teton account with AMP. All of this is covered in the instructions on the Teton page on our website. You will also use the Denali Exchange Data Feed with the Teton Order Routing. This is just the data, but you need to use this data, since you are not connecting to another data source. The Denali Data Feed is required and is something that you activate through your own Sierra Chart account. The brokers do not have anything to do with that.
