Hello, In the DOM for Chart (File-> Open Trading DOM for Chart), when I click on either column beside the prices to enter an order, the DOM for Chart Window changes from Live to Simulation Mode. Even when I then go to Trade-> Trade Simulation Mode On and uncheck it (which changes DOM for Chart back to Live) and go back to the DOM for Chart and click on the column beside the prices, the DOM for Chart again changes back to Simulation Mode. Kindly advise. Thank you. |

This means that your Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings are not setup for your specific trading service. What trading service are you using, or who is your broker? We can then point you to the proper instructions. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Since AMP is your broker, then you are most likely setup to use CQG for your order routing. You should have a CQG Username and Password that you received from AMP. Then all you need to do is to follow the instructions at the following link to connect your Sierra Chart to your CQG account: CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions After you complete the above, then you will need to open your Chartbooks and select Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service in order to get your symbols changed to what CQG needs. You will then be able to trade live when you are NOT in Simulation Mode. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi John, Thanks for your reply. I’m now able to submit Live trades. From your guidance and instructions, I only had to change Global Settings-> Data/Trade Service Settings-> Current Selected Service (List)-> From: SC Data – All Services [data], To: CQG WebAPI [trading] I’m hesitant to change from “SC Data – All Services [data]” to “CQG WebAPI [trading]” because of comments I’ve received from one of your colleagues, such as: From post “[Locked] – D6Z12 Intraday Chart Issue – Denali Feed – SC Data – All Services” “And regardless of what was said previously, you should be using SC Data-All Services, and using the proper symbology instead of using CQG and these nonsense CQG symbols.” On 2022-02-10 14:36:47 At the end of the day, what you’re advising works and what your colleague advised doesn’t - I’m not sure why there’s a difference - but from the position of a user of your company’s services, it would be reassuring to know that my investing is based on consistent technological advice and the proper settings for my account. My experience is that I get this consistently from you. Thank you again for your help. |

Thank you for the kind words. As we are not sure of the content of that post, the only thing we can say is that the statement you post is in reference to the CQG symbols. All of the Order Routing companies their own symbology in order to convert from what the user wants to appropriate exchange and symbol. In the end, some make sense and some are a bit...odd. CQG, to us, is in the odd category, as many of their symbols do not use the actual symbol from the exchange. For example, for the ES March 2022 contract CQG uses a symbol of F.US.EPH22 rather than something much simpler such as ESH22.
