You can not get any data for the $VIX unless you pay for it. This particular symbol is part of the CBOE Indices exchange which is available through our Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. You do have the CFE exchange with market depth activated, and you can get S&P volatility index futures and that can be a substitute for the $VIX. Although it is not an exact match.
