Hi,

Is it doable to run two different spreadsheet studies on two different timeframes of the same symbol on two different simulation accounts? Or do I need two different brokerage accounts for this?

Do I need two different installations or is it doable to do it on one instance of the SC?

Thanks

If you have multiple trading accounts associated with a single login to your trading service, then those accounts will show up within the one Sierra Chart instance. Refer to the following for how to change the Trading Account for a chart:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)

The above is also true for the simulation accounts built into the Simulation Mode within Sierra Chart.

Therefore, in this situation, you can have a single Sierra Chart and be able to have two different Spreadsheet Studies on different charts associated with different accounts, each entering orders separate from one another.

Thanks. Just to make sure I understood, I need to have two separate trading accounts if I want to run two spreadsheet studies on the same symbol but two timeframes? This is only for simulation for now. I am not interested in doing this live.

Yes, you would need to have separate trading accounts in order to have different trading strategies. It doesn't really matter if they are on two different timeframes or not. But, you would want to have different charts in order to have different Spreadsheet Studies for Trading that control each strategy.

If you are using the Sierra Chart Simulation Mode, then you have access to multiple Simulation accounts. Refer to the following:

Thanks a lot. To open two charts of the same symbol under two different simulation accounts, do I need to have a new installation? I don't know how to open two chartbooks for the same symbol.

You do not need different Chartbooks, just different charts. And refer to the following for how to select the Trading Account that you will use with each chart:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)

One more question on this:

I have two simulation accounts for the same chartbook but two different charts. Each chart is linked to a spreadsheet for trading. The trading strategy is exactly the same, so I am expecting the same trade is opened in both simulation accounts. But that is not the case. Only one of the simulation accounts shows the trade. What is the reason?

Thanks

Make sure you have the different Simulation Accounts setup for each chart. Refer to the following for how to select the Trading Account for a chart:
Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM)
