Monitoring auto liquidation functionality:

These steps assume you are using the Teton order routing service.

1. First connect to the Teton order routing service. Instructions:

2. Check to see that auto liquidation has been set up by seeing if there is a negative DailyNetLossLimit value for your account:
https://www.sierrachart.com/images/TradeAccountManagement/TradeAccountMonitor_DailyLossLimit.png

If this value is zero, auto liquidation is not used for your account and there is nothing further to do. You can stop here.

3. Monitoring consists of looking at your current loss if any, by adding together the DailyProfit/Loss and the Open Profit/Loss fields (refer to screenshot above). If auto liquidation should be triggering based upon the total of these two, and has not, then take the appropriate steps.

If the total of the DailyProfit/Loss and the Open Profit/Loss is inaccurate, then contact your broker and take the appropriate steps, and that may include requesting them to disable auto liquidation or making an adjustment to it.

If auto liquidation triggers unexpectedly/incorrectly for any reason, then contact your broker and take the appropriate steps. Or take the appropriate steps within Sierra Chart. However, once Auto liquidation triggers, you will not be able to open any new positions.

If you do not want auto liquidation used on your account, then make that clear to your broker.

There is another way you can see how your account is configured for auto liquidation. You do have read-only access at this time to the settings on your trade account on the Teton system. Instructions to access:

1. Select Trade >> Trade Account Monitor.

2. Select your account in the trade account monitor list by left clicking on it and highlighting it.

3. Select Manage >> Edit Trade Account.

4. You can now see all of the settings on your account.

5. There is also the new Margin tab, for checking margin requirement for a particular symbol for a single contract, based upon the margin settings in the account and time of day.

2. Regarding this, we made a mistake.

The presence of a DailyNetLossLimit does not mean the account is set for auto liquidation. When that amount is reached, it may just simply mean the account is put into liquidation only mode which means you can reduce the quantity of your positions but you cannot increase positions or establish new ones.

The only way to find out if auto liquidation is enabled on your account, is to look at this field in the trade account settings for your account:
Trade Account and Risk Management: Flatten Positions At Daily Loss Limit (Daily Net Loss Limit Settings)

Refer to post #3 above, to view the trade account settings for your account.
