I have a VbP chart that I would like to keep. It computes multiple time frames. Is there a way to stop it from manually recalculating the studies. I don't mind updating it every half hour or so myself. When I remove the chart from the chartbook my Power usage for SC goes back to very low, I know it is this one chart that is causing issues. My CPU use is fine and usually around 5% no matter how many charts I have open. The power usage is high whenever I add the VbP. I was thinking that if I could stop it from calculating the studies and just calculate them intermittently, this would solve my problem. Does anyone have any advice? Again, I would like to keep the study and be able to see it while trading. Thank You Heidi |

This had gotten overlooked. Some of the Volume by Price studies are configured very inefficiently. For example, this Input setting: Volume By Price Study: Time Period Length for 'Fixed Time' Needs to be increased. In one case it is set to 1 minute. That is way too low based upon the amount of data loaded in the chart. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
