I use the Trade Activity Log to track my own P/L vs my broker. Today, for the first time, there was a discrepancy between the two. Looking at the Trade Activity Log, SC version 2238 appears to have done some bad rounding, e.g.: Long 1 F.US.RTYM21 / Enter@2341.0 / Exit@2340.4 for a loss of 6 ticks
shows a loss of -29.99 instead of -30. The log shows three F.US.RTYM21 trades where the P/L (without commission) was either xx.99 or xx.01. Finally, there was a trade where the P/L was xx.00 but it added a loss of xx.01 to the cumulative P/L. |

Came across the answer while browsing through the documentation Trade Activity Log: Profit/Loss Calculation Rounding Error Profit/Loss calculations in Sierra Chart which are displayed as a Currency Value are done using floating-point numbers.
Inherently there is some imprecision with these types of calculations which can lead to small .01 display inaccuracies. |
