Hello, I just upgraded to version 2159 and now all of my chart drawings are gone. Or to be more precise, they still seem to exist but they are not getting displayed on any chart. (edit: this statement below was INCORRECT..I checked an old version and the IDs were negative so that seems to be how it's always been) Furthermore, upon investigation, they all appear to have negative IDs, which I don't think was the case before. Please advise? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-09-02 01:40:48

Hi, I have found a workaround and recovered my drawings. There is a bug somewhere but I have no idea where. Anyways here is what I did in case anyone else has the same issue: 1. Opened my chartbook in another sierrachart installation which had not yet updated (version 2138) 2. Opened "Manage Chart Drawings" window on one of the charts with many drawings and deleted a drawing for one of the symbols. 3. Saved and clossed the chartbook. Note this dropped the size of the chartbook down from over 35MB to about 1.5MB 4. Opened the chartbook in the new (updated) instance of sierrachart (version 2159). Now it works fine, all drawings show up on all charts. So I have no idea what happened, but some sort of cleanup or optimization must have been triggered when I removed a drawing. It was a long shot and I can't believe it worked. I can reproduce this, I tried a few times to make sure. Anyways, I guess we can mark this resolved. |
