Is there a way to do this? To simply auto-resend an order(say, every 5 secs) until the action finally goes through?

Are there plans to incorporate something of the sort in the near future?

No never. It is not safe and the inherent problem is the exchange your trading on has issues. We are working on creating our own exchange as an alternative. I noticed something on Bitmex though: Although the client side called off the (step. triggerstop/trigger stop) order-adjusting attempts after a single attempt, the user interface on the actual exchange has the orders alive, but just not adjusted.. My question is, is it not possible to get the client side programmed to retry the adjusting only? )We certainly don't want the orders themselves to be resent whilst they're still alive in the exchange UI side..) Otherwise, I'm thinking these types of stops will forever be unusable with Bitmex each time the system 'overloads'(which it does often...)! |

In the case of a trailing stop order, there will be continuous attempts to modify the order as necessary. In the case of when there is a one-time adjustment like when using the Move to Breakeven functionality on a Stop order, there is just going to be a one-time adjustment. This will not change. And nothing is forever, as we indicated we are working on our own high-performance exchange functionality. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Yeah, what I'm saying is that all trailstop modification seems to end when a "system is overloaded" error is signaled.. I'm thinking that if that's happening, then is there not a way to detect if the orders are alive&present on UI side(?), and if so, re-up the trailstop-modifying activity? I think the wrench in the works here is the bitmex system "overloading" and the client side "forgetting" about the orders being still present... I will check around on the support board, but I'm wondering if anyone else has luck with using client-side trailing stops on Bitmex successfully.. P.S. I've seen the same concern voiced in a section of a complaint by another user back in April of 2018: Hi, i cant figure out how fix problem with overloaded servers on bitmex when sierra want send/modify orders. For example when i sent limit order sierra automaticly post trailing stop order what is fine. But when my order is filled and bitmex says: servers are overload, sierra just give up and dont trying post trailing stop order again. Same situation when price is going up rapidly and servers are overloaded sierra dont trying modify price at trailing stop orders. Insted of that trailing stop order just dissapear from DOM Trade window.
Any option how to set up sierra for trying sending orders again and again ? -by User513228 Date Time Of Last Edit: 2019-01-07 18:30:14

The problem where an order goes into a canceled state after a failed modification or a failed cancellation, is now resolved with BitMex in version 1857.
