Im a little confused on why a full recalculation occurs when I currently have the said symbol AAPL-OPT-20160408-109-C-SMART-100-USD, already opened within my chartbook? Hi, this is becoming an issue for us, is there any way to "tag" the chart symbols prior to the market opening? I still don't quite understand how we cant just open the chart symbols for the contracts we will be trading prior to market open. thx |

We do not know how to answer this because we do not know exactly what you are doing and seeing in response, and what you require. I still don't quite understand how we cant just open the chart symbols for the contracts we will be trading prior to market open.
Then go ahead and do this. You can certainly do that.

When we get a signal we download the appropriate chart symbol, this only occurs once a week as I leave the chart symbols open to facilitate more contracts purchased off that chart symbol. The issue comes into play on the intial download of the chart symbol, this causes a delay of 2-8 seconds to wait for the download to occur but also an issue when purchasing correct quantities due to the fact we are referencing the option prices on the chart to gauge how many we would buy.
