Hi there, I have added a custom study to the chart but I have encountered two problems: 1. I have added the study to the main chart so I am not able to see its historical value when I move the crosshair pointer across the different periods. How do I see the historical values please? 2. I would need to use the value of one of the variables as well as the sc.subgraph plot in another of my indicator but I am not able to see it in the "Settings" section when I was adding the custom study nor do I see it anywhere on the chart. Is there anyway for me to see those values? Or is the .cpp file for the study available for me to see if that's the only way? The custom study name is called "Super Trend Stop". Thank you so much for your help. |

1. I am using the crosshair but I am NOT seeing the historical value of this custom study Supertrend Stop. I can only see the current value and when I move the crosshair across the bars, I only see the price information for all the historical bars in the "values" window but I do NOT see the value of this study for all the historical bars. How do I see the value of the custom study for all the historical bars please? You documentation did NOT address the issue. Sorry. 2. Where can I see the .cpp file of this custom study "Supertrend Stop" that is provided by Sierra Charts? I need to build an indicator that uses one of the variables in this custom study but I am NOT able to see it in the "Settings" window when I load up this study nor is it outputted in anywhere. I think one of the ways is look at the .cpp file but if that's not possible, how do I get access to that variable value please? |

1. Refer to the documentation again for the Chart Values Tool. You are mistaken about this. The documentation makes this very clear. We are not going to say anything further because the documentation makes this very clear including a screenshot. 2. I did not know that the support is only for paid accounts. I have pretty much built majority of my indicators. I just need to code my trading system. I am just using the trial to test everything. Once everything is tested fine, I am signing up for a live trading account. You can see all my questions are programming related so I do have an incentive to sign up for a live trading account. I would appreciate it if you can help me a bit during this coding process. The earlier that I succeed in all the coding, the earlier I can sign up for a paid account. So far you have been very helpful and I really appreciate it. Thank you. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2016-02-11 05:34:47

And also regarding using the crosshair to see the values of a study on historical bars on a chart, the documentation that you suggested to me does NOT address this issue. I AM using the crosshair and like I said, when I move across the bars, all I see showing in the 'Values" window is the historical price information. Attached please see the screenshot. What I want to see is the historical value of the "Stop" from the custom study "Supertrend Stop", circled in blue on the screenshot. You can see I am using the crosshair but my crosshair is clearly at a bar where the "Stop" is supposed to in red color and is of a different value from what shows up on the chart which is in green. And the correct "Stop" value does NOT show up in the "Values" window on the side either. This is what I meant. You no longer wish to help me that's fine but you did not understand my question and your provided documentation did NOT really address the issue. Thank you. |

You need to use the Window >> Tool Values Window. This is what the documentation says but possibly the browser did not scroll to the proper location. The documentation also explains that you need to select Window >> Reset Windows if you do not see that window. And to reselect that command after. There is also a screenshot of it. You no longer wish to help me that's fine
We will still help with critical issues or simple questions. And understood what is said in post #6. When we said, we do not want to provide any further information, it is not due to the account status but because the documentation is very clear and we do not want to restate it. But possibly like we said maybe the browser did not scroll to the right location.
