Sierra 2982: I have a daily historical chart and I'm using 3 times the Volume Weighted Average Price study. The Time Period Type is set to Days, Weeks and Months. The Time Period Length is always 1. But in my chart the weekly VWAP is exactly the same as the monthly VWAP. And the daily VWAP is the same as the current price(see the current price line study). You can see values for the studies and the last price in the chart header. The ES chart is continuous and date rule backadjusted and starts at december 2023. What I'm doing wrong? https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=179381401993.png An intraday only chart looks the same(removed the study names in the chart header there) https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1793815380562.png Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-11-04 18:04:45

What study are you using to get these VWAPs? And how is that study setup?

1. On an historical chart set to 1 day bar period, a 1 day VWAP is always going to be at the Last price. This is by definition of how the VWAP is calculated. 2. The reason your weekly and monthly VWAP is the same is that the week and the month both started on the same day, and until next week, they will give the same result. 3. You have the same result with an Intraday chart, because you have the option for "Based on Underlying Data" set to "No". On an Intraday Only chart set to a 1 day bar period, if you set "Based on Underlying Data" to "Yes", then the 1 day VWAP will be different from the last price. But you will have the same issue with the Weekly and Monthly being the same. 4. Your Historical 1 day chart is not setup as a Continuous Futures Contract chart. Depending on what you are wanting to see, you may want to change that.
