Hello Sierra Chart Support, I am documenting and normalizing an archive of original futures SCID and DLY files personally downloaded using Sierra Chart. The originals are preserved unchanged. I need to establish their historical acquisition metadata without assuming that current settings describe every past download. Available saved configurations indicate SC Data - All Services for the main instance and DTC Sub Instance for a secondary instance. However, I do not have download logs that establish the service and settings used to write each individual file. Could you please clarify the following, or point me to supported documentation? 1. Which file fields, saved settings or logs can establish the actual service and stored price units used when a particular SCID/DLY file was written? How can these be distinguished from multipliers subsequently applied only for chart display? If the original service is unknown, is there any supported offline method to establish the stored-to-canonical price multiplier? 2. For SCID files containing ordinary OHLC records rather than exclusively single-trade records, can the original Intraday Data Storage Time Unit be recovered from the file or saved configuration, including files supplied through a DTC Sub Instance? Can a file contain different storage units after settings changes? 3. Can the historical value of "Download Total Volume for All Contracts for Futures Daily Data" be recovered and linked to particular DLY downloads? Is there any reliable evidence within an existing DLY file that distinguishes contract-month volume/open interest from totals across all contract months? 4. Without download logs, what evidence can identify the historical daily data service and determine whether the DLY Close field represents settlement or the last trade? In particular, when is a Close outside the daily High-Low range a valid settlement rather than a malformed record? 5. The Intraday Data File Format documentation page currently states that its documentation has been removed. Is a supported replacement specification available for interpreting existing SCID files, including timestamp encoding and single-trade marker semantics? If any of these properties cannot be reliably recovered offline, please identify that limitation so that we can explicitly mark the affected metadata as unknown rather than infer it. Thank you. |

Due to exchange rules, the data in Sierra Chart can not be accessed outside of the system. This is why the documentation for the .scid format is no longer available. You can only access the data from within the Sierra Chart program itself.
