Draw Anchored VWAP loses anchor handle after loading a Study Collection

Hi, I am having an issue with the Draw Anchored VWAP tool. When I first place an Anchored VWAP on the chart, everything works correctly: * The small square anchor handle is visible. * I can drag the anchor left or right very easily. * The Anchored VWAP also appears in Tools > Manage Chart Drawings Window. The problem starts after I save/load a Study Collection. After loading the Study Collection: * The VWAP lines are still visible. * The VWAP study still exists in Analysis > Studies. * I can still manually change the Start Date-Time from the study settings. * However, the Anchored VWAP no longer appears in Manage Chart Drawings Window. * The small square anchor handle disappears. * Left/right mouse interaction with the anchor no longer works. * Therefore I lose the very useful ability to quickly drag the VWAP anchor left or right on the chart. I tested several things: * Support Left Click To Select Chart Drawings = Yes * Square Drawing Anchors = Yes * Enable Drawn Volume Profile Selection = Yes * Saving the VWAP as a single Study Collection * Saving it as part of a multi-study collection * Loading collections while trying to preserve existing studies * Creating a separate VWAP Study Collection for the Draw Anchored VWAP tool None of these preserve the Anchored VWAP drawing object after the Study Collection is loaded. ! The important point is that the VWAP study remains, but the Anchored VWAP drawing/anchor object is removed. ? Is there a supported way to keep the Anchored VWAP drawing object and its draggable square anchor when loading Study Collections? ? If not, could this be considered for a fix or enhancement? The draggable anchor is much more practical than manually editing the Start Date-Time in Study Settings every time. I am currently using Sierra Chart version 2952. Thank you. |

We are not able to reproduce exactly what you are stating you are seeing. One of the things to keep in mind is that the Drawn VWAP (along with the Drawn Volume Profile) tool is just a quick way to add a VWAP study to the chart. It is not actually a drawing in and of itself. So when you use that tool, a VWAP study is added to the chart. Therefore, if you load a Study Collection, that study collection is going to remove, or add to, that VWAP study - depending on whether you are removing the existing studies or not based on the setting for the Study Collection. What we see is the following when adding the Study Collection: - When the study collection is loaded and other studies are removed, the drawn VWAP is removed. - When the study collection is loaded and other studies are to stay on the chart, then the drawn VWAP stays on the chart and the square anchor stays displayed. We wonder if what you are seeing is a VWAP that is part of the Study Collection being placed on the chart while the "Drawn VWAP" is actually being removed. Thank you for the clarification. What you described is correct, but it is not quite the issue I was asking about. My actual workflow is that I use the same chart and switch between different Study Collections. When I load another Study Collection, the Anchored VWAP itself remains visible, and the VWAP study is still present in Analysis > Studies. However, the small square anchor handle disappears. After that: * I can no longer drag the anchor left or right on the chart. * The Anchored VWAP no longer appears in Manage Chart Drawings. * I can only move the anchor by manually changing the Start Date-Time in the VWAP study settings. Keeping all existing studies is not practical for me, because I need to switch between different Study Collections on the same chart. Is there any way to preserve the draggable square anchor handle of the existing Anchored VWAP while switching Study Collections? If not, I think this would be a useful enhancement, because recreating the Anchored VWAP every time just to restore the draggable anchor is not practical. |

When you load a Study Collection and that Study Collection either does not have the option for "Prompt to Remove Existing Studies" set, or it does have that set, but you are telling the system to remove the existing studies - then any Drawn VWAP studies are going to be removed from the chart. If you have a VWAP study still displayed in the chart after you load the Study Collection, then this would mean that there is a VWAP study included in the Study Collection. It is not possible for the Drawn VWAP to still be present and only lose the anchor point display if you load a Study Collection and do not preserve the existing studies. The Drawn VWAP is being removed in this case. Check your Study Collections and see if they have a VWAP study in them. To do this, go to "Analysis >> Studies" and then select the Study Collection in the bottom right and select the "Load" button. This will load the studies in the Study Collection so you can see what studies are included in it.
