how to reproduce: - install SC in to 2 folders says SC1 and SC2 - copy sierra4.config from SC1 to SC2 - edit paths in SC2 via General Settings -> Paths, set data folder to SC2\Data - save SC2, reopen - again in General Settings - General - Open Files on Startup now you cant have any files on startup - the paths will be all wrong and malformed whatever you do. I had to hex edit the file to rid off SC1 .. also in my 15 yo instance - there are still stuck old paths to some sound files with disk it was initially installed (C:) but moved ages ago to D: |

We are not understanding your workflow. After you edit the path in SC2 and close it. When you reopen that installation is the Path still set properly? If you are then going to "General Settings >> General >> Open Files on Startup", it probably will still be pointing to the SC1 instance. The particular folder that shows up when you select that is the last folder you had open. Since you copied the Sierra4.config file, that last folder will be the SC1 'Data' folder. You need to select the "Folder" button in the file selection window after it comes up from the "Open Files on Startup" window. Then select the SC2/Data folder and select the proper chartbooks to open from there.
