Intermittent connection in Sierra Chart 2782 and custom-tool issues in 2944

Hello, I have two separate Sierra Chart installations with different problems: Version 2944 • Sierra Chart connects successfully to SC Data. • Sierra Package 11, Denali, and CME market data are active. • However, my custom Trade/Anchor tools and zones do not function or render correctly. • The same custom tools work correctly in version 2782. Version 2782 • The custom Trade/Anchor tools and zones render correctly. • Initially, Sierra Chart repeatedly remained red with Not Connected after selecting File → Connect to Data Feed. • My Sierra Chart account login succeeded. • Window → Message Log opened completely blank, with no connection error or explanation. Under Global Settings → Data/Trade Service Settings, we tried connecting with both: • Teton CME Routing (Not enabled on package) [trading] • SC Data (Not enabled on package) [data] The settings also showed: • Clearing Firm: AMP • Use Backup Connectivity as Primary: Yes Update while writing this ticket: Version 2782 unexpectedly began working this morning. It connected to SC Data, the status area turned green, and the chart loaded. I am not aware of any specific configuration change that explains why it began connecting after repeatedly remaining Not Connected. The issue therefore appears intermittent or related to something that changed outside the installation. Please help determine: 1. Why both services display Not enabled on package even though Package 11, Denali, and CME data are active. 2. Why version 2782 initially could not connect and then began working without a known configuration change. 3. Whether version 2782 is subject to a minimum-version or intermittent server-compatibility limitation. 4. What diagnostic information can be collected if the problem returns and the Message Log remains blank. 5. Whether there is a supported way to preserve the working custom-tool behavior while using version 2944. The two installations are intentionally separate. Please do not overwrite or update the version 2782 installation until the custom-tool compatibility issue is understood. Thank you. |
