Rendering issues with Initial Balance study

I use the Initial Balance study to show IB High and IB Low on my charts (for ES and NQ). However, I don't want to continue the lines all through the Globex session of the following day. (and I didn't find an option to disable that and end the lines exactly at the end of RTH session) Therefore, I created a second chart that only shows the time period 09:30:00 - 16:59:59 (1 min chart). I put the Initial Balance study on that chart and then I included it with the Study/Price Overlay study on my main trading char (5 min chart). It generally works, but I notice a strange rendering issue. Please see attached screenshot for this: Instead of starting a the first candle at 09:30, there is one line segment drawn on the previous candle (09:25) as well (exactly at the price levels of the previous session's IB High and Low). I assume that I did something wrong in my study configuration, but I simply can't figure it out. Please also find attached screenshots of the IB study and the corresponding Study/Price Overlay. Any assistance with that would be much appreciated. |

You must have data from 09:25 in your source chart that is being overlaid to the destination chart. If you get us those two charts then we can take a look at how you have this setup and help you to resolve it. Follow the instructions at the following link, but get us the 2 charts, not just one, and make sure the issue is still showing in the new chartbook you provide to us: Support Board Posting Information: Providing Chartbook with Only a Single Chart For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi John, thanks a lot for taking a look at this. It's much appreciated! I created a new chartbook for you with only the two charts and attached it. I removed every other chart and study, so only the IB study remains in the first chart (#2) and the Price/Overlay study in the second chart (#12). I tested it and can confirm that the issue still occurs (see right chart in attached screenshot). However: the rendering issue doesn't appear immediately when you load the chartbook. There seems to be some kind of "trigger" for it. I don't exactly know what it is, but after some testing, I found a reliable way to trigger the issue: 1. Open the Chartbook 2. Start a replay on chart #12 (Chart > Replay Chart > Replay Chart (Control Panel)) 3. Set the start date and time to 2026-08-21 and 09:29:50 4. Set the playback speed to 5.00 5. Start the playback The rendering issue (horizontal lines over/under the candle at 09:25 in chart #12) will appear at 09:31, when the second 1 minute candle opens on the 1m chart #2. Somehow, this seems to be the trigger. Thanks in advance for taking a look at it! |

We do not need to look at the chartbook, we can tell you that what you are seeing is correct due to the fact that you are running a replay. Since your replay starts at "09:29:50", it will be generating some data for the minute that has a starting time of 09:29:00 in the source chart. Therefore, you are seeing that IB information displayed in the destination chart in the 09:25:00 bar, since that covers the time of 09:25:00 to 09:29:59. We are not certain what you are wanting to accomplish exactly with the replay, but you are going to get that item showing due to what you are doing.
