Hello, I've noticed that the “Right-Click Exits Current Drawing Tool To” setting isn't working correctly. When I select any drawing tool and click the right mouse button, it switches to the hand tool as expected (that's how I have it set up). But if I select a tool, start drawing, and then right-click, it doesn’t switch to the hand tool—the drawing tool remains selected. (Please watch my video.) https://youtu.be/NIiIaQZoUtk On other platforms (NinjaTrader, TradeStation, TradingView, etc.), clicking the right mouse button always switches to the default tool—i.e., the pointer, crosshair, or hand tool. There were some issues related to this, pointed out by one user. You want one behavior and another user wants different behavior. And each one claims, that the way it is, is not working properly. There was a careful review and some corrections made related to this about two months ago. With the way you want it to work, that has to be a separate setting that we have to implement. Thank you for your response. I would argue that my interpretation is the only correct one. This setting is called “Right-Click Exits Current Drawing Tool To.” So it’s perfectly logical that when a user right-clicks, they expect the action they selected from the settings to occur under all circumstances. In my case, that’s switching to the hand tool. If that doesn’t happen, the user is naturally confused because the action they set up didn’t occur. Therefore, anything other than switching to the set tool doesn’t make sense. If a different action were to occur after right-clicking, then it should have its own separate setting and not alter the logic of this one. I’m quite upset about this change, since now the same action requires two clicks instead of one. Not to mention that I recorded a tutorial video for my students specifically explaining this functionality. Now, I’ll be inundated with questions about why it isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do. With all due respect, I also disagree that it’s irrelevant how this works on other platforms. If you want to enable people to transition smoothly from other trading platforms to Sierra Chart, then you should offer them a setting that ensures they can control the platform in a way that’s standard in this industry—which exiting to the default tool (pointer, crosshair, hand tool) upon right-clicking is. Please restore this setting and add a separate one for situations where a drawing tool is actually being used. Thank you. It just occurred to me that this setting could be split into two, for example like this: - Right-Click Exits Current Selected Drawing Tool To - Right-Click Exits Current Active Drawing Tool To (or "Right-Click Exits Current Activated Drawing Tool To") Just a suggestion.
