Still struggling a little to get things sorted. Now back on Volume Profile but different issue hence different thread. I've set the VbP to "Multiple Profiles Start Time to End Time" (multiple sessions) to what I think is correct but I'm getting unexpected results/profiles. When I use the manually drawn "Draw Volume Profiles" I get the expected result. For simplicity I'm using the Globex 00:00:00 - 23:59:59 hours. I've attached 3 charts which also show the previous days "Volume Value Area Lines" which align with the "Draw Volume Profile" study. Clearly, it's most likely me but any help appreciated. From "Volume by Price 01.png", you show a "Volume Value Area Lines" study with a "Ticks per Volume Bar" set to "1". This needs to match what is set in the Volume by Price study or you will get different Value Areas. From "Volume by Price 02.png", you state that you are using a "Volume Graph Period Type" of "Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time", but your "Start Time" is set to "00:00:00" and your "End Time" is set to "00:00:00". Therefore, you will get a profile for the one bar that has a starting time of 00:00:00. If you want the full 24 hours, then you need the following Inputs: - Start Time: 00:00:00 - End Time: 23:59:59 For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Sorry, typo. Chart settings are of course: Start Time: 00:00:00 - End Time: 23:59:59 i.e. Globex UTC. The "Volume Value Area Lines" study is fine and aligns correctly with the "Draw Volume Profiles" which as you can see all extend across the 24 hours. It's the "Multiple Profiles Start Time to End Time" (multiple sessions profile) that is the issue for me. Image "Volume by Price 03." |

It doesn't matter what your "Chart Settings >> Session Times" are set to if you are using a "Volume Graph Period Type" of "Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time". If you are using "Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time" then you need to set the "Start Time" and the "End Time" properly in the Volume by Price study itself. Hi John, Okay, so I read the documentation previously as: Use Different Start Time
[Link] - [Top] Set this option to Yes to specify a different Start Time for the Volume Profiles that differs from the Session Times in Chart >> Chart Settings. The time is set through the Start Time Input setting. Start Time [Link] - [Top] This setting is used to specify a Start Time when the Volume Graph Period Type requires a Start Time. This time setting is relative to the Time Zone setting you have set in Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings. In this instance as I was making no changes to the Chart Session Times I read this as setting the "Start-Time and End-Time" was not required. My fault. Thank you for clarifying. |
