I am running Sierra Chart using Wine on Ubuntu. I am not getting data to download. I get the waiting to download historical intraday data message.

I run it using bottles and mint. I had to delete all the current downloaded data and then redownload a couple months ago from what I assumed was corruption. I think it's the scid files in the data folder. |

I looked at the message log. I see an error Windows Error code 50: Request not supported on the "Z" drive for the "scid" files.

This sounds like something about your setup with Wine and not a specific Sierra Chart issue. We have set this as a User Discussion for other Wine users (and enthusiasts) to help with your particular issue. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Is Sierra installed on a different drive?

This must be set to No: Global Settings -> Advanced Service Settings -> File Compression -> Disable Intraday and Market Depth File Compression if Enabled on the File = Yes |

I appreciate the assistance. The file compression setting worked. I spent a few hours researching to no avail.

I am using LMDE, also part of the Debian family, it seems Z drive just the my Linux home drive, I always install Sierra on C drive, which is actually under ~\.wine\drive_c\ folder, and never had any issues. When you install Sierra, just change the installation folder from "Z:\SierraChart\" to "C:\SierraChart"

There is a long Linux thread here with lots of good information. Probably start from the last page and work backwards for more relevant info. Linux SierraChart can be installed in any folder or any drive, it does not need to specifically be in the wine drive_c folder. I have my SierraChart installations sitting on a separate NVME drive from my OS drive, for instance. |
