https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1782230353407.png Hello support, I have multiple charts with custom bar periods that are not creating a new bar after days remaining = 0. See the image link above as one example. Could you let me know how to correct this? Thank you. |

Is this from a custom study that is creating the bars? And what do you mean by "after days remaining = 0"?

No, this is not from a custom study creating the bars. The chart settings - "historical chart days per bar" is set to 18. See: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1782236608377.png What I mean by "days remaining" is the chart header "DR:0" (bar countdown) shows 0. In this chart a new bar should've been created yesterday 6-22-2026, starting a new 18-day bar, but it has not. Thanks. |

We see that the DR: should give the amount of days remaining, but it is not working as you are expecting. This is something we will have to look into, but we will tell you that it is not going to be a priority, as we just have too many other things to deal with. But, we do want to make sure that you are getting a new bar when you are supposed to. What is the date of the last bar that is in your chart? Thank you. I only brought up the DR: days remaining because I thought it may be related to the issue. I appreciate you looking into that. For the new bars in the charts, here's two examples (it's occurring on a few other charts): 1. GDX, (start) date of last bar is 2026-06-04: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1782244516740.png 2. EETH, (start) date of last bar is 2026-05-29: https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1782244488549.png Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-06-23 19:55:30

In the case of Historical chart bars, the "Historical Chart Days Per Bar" does NOT include days with no trading (i.e. weekendsa and holidays are not taken into consideration). This is different from how an Intraday chart would work set to the same period. So for a period of 18 days for EETH, if you have a bar that starts on May 29, 2026, you will not get a new bar until June 26, 2026 (June 19th is skipped due to the Juneteenth holiday).
