Hi - I run the number bars study in order to see diagonal imbalances on charts across a number of different timeframes. My settings are ln 16 Number Bars Text - Ask Vol Bid Vol Diff Diagonal Bid Side ln 19 Text Coloring Method - Based on Diagonal Dominant AskVol BidVol - Actual In most lines, the diagonal imbalance colors correctly - blue for positive / red for negative imbalance. In a couple of situations however, the negative imbalance actually colors as blue. I need the correct coloring in order to spot negative imbalance quickly. How do I get all positive imbalances to color blue and all negative imbalances to color as red. I have tried setting ln 19 Text Coloring Method to "Based on Diagonal Dominant AskVol BidVol Difference - Actual" - this fixes some of the incorrect imbalance colors, but then changes other negative imbalances that were showing correctly as RED to now show as BLUE Thanks Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-06-22 13:07:58

There is not a Background/Text Coloring option that does exactly what you are wanting (Color Bid Side Diagonal Difference based on Positive/Negative). Also, the options you are choosing are not incorrect, they are just not doing what you are expecting. You need to keep in mind that with Diagonal Differences, you can have one of 3 different results: - Neither side dominant - Bid Side Dominant - Ask Side Dominant When you are displaying just the Bid Side, this is not reflecting the dominant side in the diagonal differences - it just gives a one-sided view. Thanks anyway Would it be feasible for a future release to simply have the color option - if value is negative then red (or whatever color choice you make) and if a positive value then blue (or green). |

We have noted this as a Feature Request. We can not say when we would get to any particular request. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

We do have an additional question on how you would want this to work. Keep in mind that the coloring allows for 4 coloring gradations, so would you want to have no gradation for this, so it would just use the "Range 3 Up Color" and the "Range 3 Down Color"? Or would you want the gradation based on the percentage of the absolute value of the maximum value seen in the Bid Side of the Diagonal Difference? Or would you want the gradation based on the percentage of the Positive/Negative sides separately (i.e. a maximum value of 20 would drive the percentages for the positive (Up) colors, and a minimum value of -30 would drive the percentages for the negative (Down) colors)?
