Hi, I have a setup as follows:

1. Main instance
2. Trading service 1 instance
3. Trading service 2 instance
4. Trading service 3 instance

These are independent (not sub instances)

I'd like to use DTC to connect instance 2-4 to the market data (only) to the lead instance (1).

Is this something that is supported? Can you guide me on how to set up these independent instances to use DTC for *only* market data from the first one?

I read the documentation on DTC but it seems geared towards subinstances and both market data and trading through the DTC server only rather than just market data. Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance

Ping. Unfortunately it's really important for me to figure out.

What you are wanting to do is not supported. The only way to use DTC to get data is to use sub-instances (started with "File >> New Instance").
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:

Thanks.

Is there a way for sub-instances to use a DIFFERENT trading service than the main instance but use the SAME market data?

No.

Sub-instances are tied to the main instance from which they started for both the data and the connected service.

OK, thanks. Please consider adding this separation of market data and trading service. I'm sure it will be fun to implement.

Hi,
I am looking for the same functionality. I have separate installation of the Sierra Chart but it downloads the ticker data doubling the files and space on the hard drive.

Did you consider implementing the DTC functionality for the trading service?

The way it is setup and what we describe above is how Sierra Chart works. This is not going to change. And there are exchange rules for why you can not share data between installations.

Technically not true because Sierra Chart as sub-instance despite separate installation folder shares the data with main instance.

Thanks for the answear.

I admit I'm a little confused. Sub-instances would not be separate installations since they already share market data today.
