Dear Sierra Chart Engineering Team, I am writing to provide feedback regarding the recent update to the notification system via the nfty app. While I fully understand and appreciate your commitment to security and privacy—specifically regarding the concerns with Google Firebase—this change has unfortunately introduced significant friction and complications for many users, including myself. Prior to this update, the ability to read message content directly through notifications was a key part of my workflow. It allowed me to stay updated via my smartwatch, which is no longer possible as it cannot follow web links. Additionally, on mobile devices, the new process requires frequent re-authentication. Having to log in repeatedly, combined with the fact that credentials are not always cached, makes the process much slower and less efficient than before. I would like to kindly ask if you would consider making this feature optional. Providing a setting that allows users to "Opt-In" to receiving full message content—at their own risk and responsibility—would solve these issues while still maintaining a high default security standard for others. Sierra Chart offers an exceptional service, and the notification system was one of its most practical features. It would be a great loss to see its efficiency diminished by this change. Thank you for your time and for considering this request. Best regards István |

The entire chat message text is now provided through mobile notifications again, and we are adding an option today to control whether you want the entire message text, or a link to the web chat application (to provide the actual full text of the notifications). Links to chart images are also more easily viewed in the web chat. The web browser you use on your mobile device definitely can be set to save the chat username and password within your mobile device in an encrypted format: Having to log in repeatedly, combined with the fact that credentials are not always cached,

Thank you so much for the incredibly quick turnaround and for implementing this update! I am already receiving full message notifications on my smartwatch again today, which has immediately restored the efficiency of my workflow. I truly appreciate the team listening to user feedback and providing the "Opt-In" option. This level of responsiveness is exactly why I value Sierra Chart so highly. |
