Hello,

I would like to use the Period OHLC - Variable Period study to display the following levels:

  • Previous day's High and Low
  • Previous week's High and Low
  • Previous month's High and Low

I want the lines to begin plotting from the start of the respective period and continue up to the present bar. This would make it easy to see both the actual high/low values from the prior period and exactly where that period began (start of the previous day, week, month, etc.).

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible, as the study lacks a setting that would allow the lines to start plotting from the beginning of the defined period.

Since the Time Period Type and Time Period Length parameters already define the start and end of the period for calculating the High and Low, adding an option to use this as the anchor point for plotting the lines should not be difficult.

Would it be possible to add a study setting for this?

Thank you!

As to the request to add an option to start the drawing of lines in the previous period, we have noted the request. We can not say when can get to any particular request.

You can workaround this by setting the option for "Use Current Period" to "Yes" and make sure you have the Number of Days to Calculate set high enough to get the previous period.

Then you would use the Spreadsheet Study to get the information from that previous period and copy that data to the current bar. You would then display the line from the Spreadsheet Study which would have it starting in the previous period and going across the current period.
