Hello, Yesterday, I was trying to create presets for the Ray tool and ran into a bug. I have a BSL preset where the text is supposed to appear above the line. If I load this preset in the Ray Properties window, everything works fine. However, if I select this preset from the right-click menu, the text remains below the line. Here is a video demonstrating this: https://youtu.be/5Xtf-InU42s?si=ndvMCPeDKcYohDA2 BTW, I also wanted to let you know that the Text Vertical Alignment (List) setting isn’t working correctly, but then I read the part about the rectangle in the documentation. This is really confusing, since the vertical alignment works exactly the opposite of what the user expects. Please consider reversing the logic of this feature to make it intuitive. Literally, just swap "Above" for "Below" and "Below" for "Above," and it will be perfect. Thank you. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) |

We cannot do this because it will generate a lot of complaints from other users, with existing drawings: Please consider reversing the logic of this feature to make it intuitive. Literally, just swap "Above" for "Below" and "Below" for "Above," and it will be perfect.

I understand that this change might initially meet with some resistance. However, any necessary adjustments to existing drawings would require changing just one setting, which isn’t really a big deal, even if there are multiple drawings. Changing how this setting works is desirable from a user perspective, as the current state is truly confusing and not intuitive. I am therefore almost certain that, despite some initial discomfort, the vast majority of users would welcome this change. That’s my two cents. Please give it some more thought. Thank you. |

Thank you. Regarding the alignment issue, I have one more comment. I would understand if the rectangular thing applied to all tools in the platform. It’s a bit odd, but I could get used to it. However, as shown in the screenshot below, the Text Vertical Alignment setting works correctly for other tools (such as the Horizontal Line or Retracement Tool). If I select "Above," the text appears above the horizontal line. If I select "Below," it appears below. The same setting produces a different (and inconsistent) result with lines or rays. Since I’ve been developing software for some time, I wanted to point out that this goes against how the feature should behave. It should always deliver the result the user expects, regardless of the tool. That’s why I believe it’s worth fixing for consistency across the platform — even if it risks a few complaints. Please consider this. Thank you. |
