Please check my assumption that the above symbol is using time and sales when I load the "volume" study?

Then please inform me, should I use a CME futures symbol, that is also using the same data, albeit 10mins delayed, until I upgrade my account to connect to CME itself?

When you load the "Volume" study, the system is getting the information from the stored trades for that symbol. The Time and Sales are the transient information for each trade that occurs - this data is not used directly for anything within the system itself.

We can not answer this question, it depends on what you are wanting to do and what information you are needing.

Thanks John.

So a simple comparison

NAS100 vs NQH26-CME

Both show similar volume histograms. NAS100 is just FXCM's derivative of NQ.

This obviously throws up a large amount a concern for the validity of the volume data. Can you please shed some light on this, i.e. is NAS100 obtaining real volume info via the broker feed?

I try to open the .scid files but it crashes my system

We are not sure what you are trying to get at with regards to "This obviously throws up a large amount a concern for the validity of the volume data."

The data is the data. The one thing we want to point out is how Volume data for CFDs (and FOREX) is calculated, as this is a bit different. Refer to the following:
