is there a way to make tick compression work together with volume by price study as well as the current/recent trade columns on the DOM everything i have tried causes it to look weird and nothing matches up. would like to be able to ,for example, only select whole numbers to trade when i have the MES compressed to 1 point per tick. but can i get it to work with the volume by price and the other columns? I tried: keeping tick size to .25 and changing depth combine increments to 4, but then the volume by price study wont match. tried changing tick size to 1 and changing depth combine increments to 4, and changing my volume by price tick increment to 4 but that would always revert back to 1 and it would still look messed up. half the columns are compressed half aren't. and can i make it so the cursor will only be able to click one prices in the increment size i choose, for example whole numbers, instead of being able to click on each invisible order box in between the prices that are compressed? |

Hi, 1. Keep the tick size at 0.25. 2. Set the combine increment in ticks at 4 for the DOM columns. 3. The magic -> In Chart Settings, go to Chart Data and set the Volume at Price Multiplier for Intraday Chart to 4. Have a nice day. |

thanks, now how do i make it so the price column and bid and ask columns are only available for the rounded numbers from tick compression. i am still able to click in between prices at each specific tick. is this something that can also be changed? |

If you want to be only able to click only on rounded prices ( 6571, 6872, 6873,... ) it's easier : 1. Forget the price increment of the DOM 2. Forget the change in Chart Data multiplier 3. Just change the tick size to 1 in the Symbol tab of the chart Settings and make sure that the Auto Set From Data Feed juste below is disabled... The documentation of Sierra Chart is extensive and well done. you just have to take your time and study it : Chart Settings: Tick Size (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Symbol Settings menu) Date Time Of Last Edit: 2026-02-08 22:33:37
