When utilizing the Study Subgraph Reference Study is there a way to add an option to use the Study Subgraph to Reference Name (VXG26) automatically instead of having to manually typing in Short Name. Im trying to utilize a name in devised in spreadsheet study to name subgraph- which would work if could do this.

There is no direct support for what you are asking. Neither in the Study Subgraph Reference or in the Spreadsheet Study. As you have found, the "Short Name" is the solution. You could do what you are wanting with an custom study, although if you go there, then you should look at replacing the entire Spreadsheet process and turning it into the study.
