moved from 2861 to 2870 on my live trading install, and there is now a ~1sec lag when switching chartbook tabs.

My other installs on 2870 are perfect, snappy, and have no problems.

The problem is having a trade window active - either floating or attached to a chart.

Remove trade windows = snappy switch between chartbooks
There is no lag switching from a chartbook with a trade window active to a chartbook without a trade window active.

But if a trade window is active ther is approx 0.5-1sec lag switching to that chartbook for it to load up (tried OpenGL on or off)

Sounds minor, but it's very distracting, and for my trading install, I had to roll back.

Yes we know and we explain this here:

There is a huge advantage to this.

okay, sorry I didn't realise this had been explained previously.

so accept the slight lag flicking between chart books for reassurance the chart book is most stable and price action and behaviour is most accurate in version 2870. I'm sure I can get used to it within a day.

is it a possibility the switching lag can be overcome in future versions?

Well the way that this will be eventually solved is that the trade window will be replaced with equivalent functionality through the Control Bars which can be directly attached to a chart window . This will be much more efficient. So yes this is going to be solved.

"dedicated color settings for these columns and the diagonal calculations"
is it available in 2870 or going to be in later version?

I also downloaded version 2870 and i have 2 problems now.

1. i overlap charts and it took me some time to figure my setup out. now a fresh loaded chartbook has the wrong charts at top of each other...total mess...i am a bit angry...honestly...this sucks BIG time...i have now clue how to tell if a chart is on top of another or not. my layout has to work right after opening a chartbook...i cant adjust that every time.

2. The chart window frame has now an unpleasant color and the chart window separation line is gone...i suggest you roll it back like it was before.

Best Regards

1. The z-order (ordering of the charts behind/above each other) is controlled through the order of the charts in the "Windows and Chartbooks" window (the CW menu shows the same ordering). So you need to have the charts ordered how you want in that list.

2. Refer to the following and the 3 settings below it for the color settings for the MDI windows:
Graphics Settings: Window Title Bar

THX...

I dont use the title bar for chart windows. To maximize a chart, we were able to double click the window frame at the top...doesnt work anymore.

Suggestion:

1. Give us a Lock/Unlock Option for chart windows being able to be moved around.
2. Maybe Option for the Window Border width.

Thx

This is still definitely supported:
To maximize a chart, we were able to double click the window frame at the top...doesnt work anymore.
No problems with this at all.

No plans for the features and 2 is not possible. Or is very involved.

Maximizing charts for me only work while showing title bars.

We understand. We will implement a solution for this. So it is not when there are title bars.

This will be solved in the next release, regarding maximizing the MDI child window when there is no title bar by double-clicking on the top border area.
