Hello,

I've used the keyboard shortcut 'alt E' to place market-buy orders for months. After update to 2846 this shortcut: shows the chart edit menu drop down, and sends the market-buy order. Updated to 2852 and the same thing is occurring. Is 'alt E' keyboard shortcut going to continue to show the edit menu drop down and can it be changed on my end?

Have a good day!

@User649609, I would expect alt-E to always bring up the Edit menu since Sierra (and other programs) have accelerator keys for &Edit. Same for alt-F for &File, etc. That's part of the Windows keyboard menu accelerator navigation system.

Sierra has these accelerators for its main menu:
FECATPDGWBL
These alt+ keys will be handled by the system.
CW does not have an accelerator key (c is taken by Chart, and w by Window)

A little programming tangent...
Programs can of course do their own actions and detect keystrokes with PreTranslateMessage/WM_SYSKEYDOWN and handle other keystrokes with OnMenuChar/WM_MENUCHAR/MNC_CLOSE.

Personally, I would choose something not already in-use by the main menu.

With the changes made in the latest release, keyboard shortcuts using the Alt key set through Global Settings >> Customize Keyboard Shortcuts can override, the underlined letters on the top level menus.

Very nice.

I mapped alt-f to Help >> About, for testing purposes.
v2858

alt+f opens about. [hold down alt, press f while alt down, release both]

alt, then f, opens file menu. [press alt, release, press f, release]
Can still access system menus mapped within Sierra.

Great work solving this (and allowing mapping of ALT now/again).
