Me too. and a couple of other people in my trading group are in the same boat. I have never had a single problem running SC on parallels in 4 years. Seems to have happened with the yesterday update. I can't seem to roll windows back to the prior version (at least I don't know how to).

There have not been any changes in Sierra Chart that would cause this. There are a number of people stating they are having this problem. We have to believe that it is something in the system that updated. We do not know where the issue is - Parallels, Windows, or MAC OS. Uninstalling the last 3 windows updates was able to return my SC to normal operation. Also another guy in my group experienced this. I can't go without updating windows forever, so I hope somebody can figure out why it is happening.

Same here - uninstalling Windows updates allowed 64.exe to launch, and my studies worked normally. Thank you!

i wonder if the new windows update gets rid of their x64 to arm64 translation layer which they call Prism (similar to macOS's rosetta2) ultimately, developers should really be compiling their studies for arm64.. it's not difficult with modern tooling Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-12-13 05:34:55

Same here, custom studies that were in SC are no longer there, rolled back the last 3 Win11 updates going back to mid-Nov, restarted, x64 still won't open, only ARM64. This is extremely frustrating as a SC user of 12 years using a Mac with Parallels with virtually no issues and now can't use my charts as I have. I hate to switch to TradingView or some other platform after all these years, but if I can't get x64 to work then there's no point in keeping SC. Any insights into what broke?

What custom studies are these?: custom studies that were in SC are no longer there,
If we have the source code for them we can build them for ARM 64. If it relates to custom studies that we have the source code for we can solve this: I hate to switch to TradingView or some other platform after all these years, but if I can't get x64 to work then there's no point in keeping SC.

It's your source code, under user contributed studies, not something I created. Ehlers Universal Oscillator and Vervoort Crossover. Thanks for the quick response.

We are putting out a new release now (Give us about 20 minutes), with the studies. You will be able to find them in Analysis >> Studies >> Add Custom Study >> Sierra Chart Custom Studies and Examples. These will be part of the Sierra Chart ARM 64 build in prerelease version 2833. apparently microsoft didn't remove Prism at all.. in fact it got an upgrade last week https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/windowsosplatform/windows-on-arm-runs-more-apps-and-games-with-new-prism-update/4475631 it now supports avx instructions which if i recall sierrachart had to disable months ago so that arm users could run the x64 application the specific error or core dump would be helpful because it may just require some compiler flags tweaking Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-12-14 02:21:51

This is interesting. We wonder what the issue is preventing the X64 version of Sierra Chart running on Windows running on an ARM64 processor. The Windows event viewer might give more information.

I found the new features can be disabled. Right-click on the SierraChart_ARM64.exe file Properties>>Compatibility>>Change Emulation Settings and then check the box for Hide Newer Emulated CPU Features (x64 apps only) https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/arm/apps-on-arm-program-compat-troubleshooter Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-12-15 01:57:30

i did go back and uninstall the updates (in order to get my x64 verion) working on mac parallels. I can not change the emulator settings, they are greyed out (or not there) in my windows under parallels. Not sure if this helps or not. |

The main thing is that you are able to use Sierra Chart at this time on your system?

I was able to start the application and load one of my custom studies. The only issue, which is probably unrelated, is that Update Current Version installs 2813. |

The current release version of Sierra Chart is 2813. Refer to the information on the right side of our main website at the following link: https://www.sierrachart.com/ The Pre-Release versions have changes to the MDI windows, which has been a large project with lots of little things to fix up as it has been going along. Therefore, we have not been ready to set the latest Pre-Release as the main release yet. Regarding post #19 and #20, the issue you are having is not clear for us. Why not regarding this?: Like I can't ask the service PropAlpha to redo all their studies just for me
We are not sure what they would have to redo. Maybe they just need to build the studies for ARM. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Is the ARM64 now permanent? I have stopped Win11 updates for fear all custom studies would disappear. Running 2433 and everything is working perfect using Mac/Parallels/Win11/ARM64 Sierra. Thanks for all your work on this.

We do not understand this question?: Is the ARM64 now permanent?
You are referring to version 2833 and you definitely/must update to the current version which is now 2847. I’ve stopped all updates as well with parallels. So afraid the custom studies won’t work as well.

You didn't say if you tried to change the Compatibility Settings for the ARM.exe: I found the new features can be disabled. Right-click on the SierraChart_ARM64.exe file Properties>>Compatibility>>Change Emulation Settings and then check the box for Hide Newer Emulated CPU Features (x64 apps only)
