Hello. I hope you are well. I had a long position on the GBO/USD today. The price fell against me and when I checked my screen, my stop loss, which was set at 9 ticks below the entry price had not been triggered, and my pnl was going further and further into the red. I had to manually exit the trade by flattening the position for a loss of 15 ticks, instead of 9. Could you offer any insight as to why this has happened as it has knocked my confidence with regards to leaving a position open when I am not at the screen. Thanks Chris |

If the Stop was a standard Stop or Stop-Limit, then you would need to check with your Broker or the Exchange to find out what may have occurred. The question is whether the Stop was actually at the exchange or not, and if so, then then the exchange is the only ones that can tell you why it did not fill. Otherwise, if it was not properly on the exchange, then you would need to find out what exactly was occurring with the order relative to your trading service and why it was not processed correctly. In other words, if your trading service held it on their servers and then would send it as a Market order when the price level was touched, then why did it not get sent.
