Hello

My understanding is that the SPX is just a calculated index, not a directly tradable instrument itself. If this is correct, it shouldn't have "trades" or "volume" data directly associated with it.

Question: Does the "Number of Trades per Bar" Chart actually work for an SPX index?

If it's not correct to use "Number of Trades," am I limited to only using time-based charts (e.g., 1-minute, 5-minute, Daily) for the SPX index?

Thank you for any clarification!

The SPX index updates every 1 second. Each update is counted as 1 trade and 1 volume. So you can use non-time based bar periods based on that information.
