Hope this helps — this isn’t a support request, just some information that may be helpful to others. If you use IBKR and TWS with API for SC, subscribe to Denali Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, NYMEX) and dont subscribe to IBKR data. Basically, you need to keep some live data running on TWS to stop it from disconnecting the data farm, which in turn disrupts SC, causes a freeze and results in the 10053 error log. I now keep the SPY (which is free and live data) locked to a 5-minute Chart on the TWS homepage (removed the grouping) to keep the data farm alive. This seems to have stopped the problem. From SC log - Network | DTC Client socket (3) | Close event error. Windows error code 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine. From TWS log that caused the problem - 2025-10-21 15:08:28.283 [UH] INFO [JTS-ServiceAuthTimeout-406] - Farm usfarm/NATIVE: No ping response 2025-10-21 15:08:28.283 [UH] INFO [JTS-ServiceAuthTimeout-406] - Disconnecting ndc1.ibllc.com:4000 [disconnectDetails=DisconnectDetails[sessionID=18,endPoint=ndc1.ibllc.com:4000,reason=NO_PING_RESPONSE,cause=null,systemMessage=null,keepSocketOpen=false]]... 2025-10-21 15:08:28.283 [UH] INFO [JTS-usfarmServicePingS18-392] - Terminating ping thread 2025-10-21 15:08:28.283 [UH] INFO [JTS-ServiceAuthTimeout-406] - Socket closed. I hadn't had any issues for several months, then I started getting a few disconnections recently. I think it's possibly because I'd stopped fiddling with or checking TWS entirely during the trading day, and had also closed all unnecessary tabs and charts in TWS. I could subscribe to futures again with IBKR; it would be free due to commissions and may also solve the problem, but I like IBKR without live futures data because it forces me to trade only at my desk through SC. I followed the guides: Data/Trading Service Connection and Symbol Issues: 1.2. Network Communication or Server Problem I ruled out ISP/Router/Network Card/PC/Firewalls, and TWS must cause it, which it did. (BTW, my TWS always says it loses market data around 2:10 PM EST every day for some reason, but this never triggers a problem with SC) Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-10-24 18:35:33
