Hello, I have a spreadsheet associated with my Spreadsheet System for Trading Study. I enter a formula in L3 and N3 for Buy Exit and Sell Exit. After some period of time, the formulas all disappear, even though I have saved the Spreadsheet by doing File -> Save and File -> Save All. This occurs without exiting Sierra Chart. Interestingly, I have another chart with similar spreadsheet study but the formulas in that spreadsheet are persistent and do not disappear. Any ideas what may be occurring and how to fix it? |

Here are the items to check on: - It is best to save each spreadsheet that you use with a different name. If you have the same name, then you have to be very careful with the particular sheets that you are using. If you want to keep it simple, then best to have different names. - Make sure you have the following items setup properly for what you are wanting to do. If you are not wanting to do anything special, then it is best to leave these as their defaults: -- Chart Data Output Specification Type -- Chart Data Output Sheet Number -- Chart Data Output Sheet Name -- Formula Source Sheet Specification Type -- Formula Source Sheet Number -- Formula Source Sheet Name - With the above, if you duplicated the study from another, then you would need to update these items to ensure they are set properly for that duplicate. - Make sure that the "Formula Source Sheet Number/Name" is set to what you want. If you are not using a specific Formula Source Sheet, then this should be set to the chart number of the chart you are using. On the top of your Spreadsheet in cell D1, it states what formula source sheet is being used. Check this and make sure that it is set to what you want. Awesome, thank you so much! The Formula Source Sheet Number was the issue. I have updated to match my chart number and will research those settings a bit more as well. Is there anyway to reference the Flat to Flat max open profit from the spreadsheet study? This value appears in the TAL but not Spreadsheet. I want to be able to exit when a flat to flat profit target is reached. Can this be requested as a new feature request for the Spreadsheet Study? Thanks! |

There is not a built-in method to access the "Flat to Flat Max Open Profit". You would have to create a custom study to do this. Refer to the following: Automated Trading From an Advanced Custom Study: sc.GetTradeStatisticsForSymbolV2() https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartStudyAndSystemProgrammers.php We have noted this as a Feature Request, but we can not say when we can get to any particular request.
