Hello Sierra Team, Situation: When working with intraday charts (Chart Data Type: Intraday Chart Only), I want to view Weekly, Quarterly, and Yearly timeframes while maintaining intraday data rather than switching to Historical Daily data. Currently: -Weekly bars: Require manually entering 7-0-0 in Days-Mins-Secs format AND setting Chart Settings >> Use Date Range >> From to a specific Sunday date - this is cumbersome but works -Monthly bars: Have a dedicated "Monthly Bars" option in the Bar Period Type dropdown - this works perfectly -Quarterly bars: I tried using "3 months" as a workaround but this does not work correctly - bars are not properly aligned to calendar quarters -Yearly bars: I tried using "12 months" as a workaround but this does not work correctly - bars are not properly aligned to calendar years Am i doing it wrong, or is this not supported on intraday Charts ? Historical charts are not an option for me, becasue i have studies which need live data. Thanks in advance for your answer. Regards |

-Quarterly bars: I tried using "3 months" as a workaround but this does not work correctly - bars are not properly aligned to calendar quarters -Yearly bars: I tried using "12 months" as a workaround but this does not work correctly - bars are not properly aligned to calendar years The solution in this case also is to Use Date Range and set, the date to the start of a quarter or the start of a year. It will not work 100% perfect but reasonably close. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Thank you for the workaround suggestion. The Date Range approach doesn't align bars to calendar quarters/years - bars form based on loaded data, not Q1/Q2/Q3/Q4 or Jan-Dec boundaries. Observation: Bar Period Type already has Monthly Bars (works perfectly). Weekly/Quarterly/Yearly would complete the standard D/W/M/Q/Y timeframe set using the same implementation pattern. Since Monthly Bars infrastructure exists, adding the other standard timeframes would resolve the inconsistency. Thanks for considering. |

Hello Sierra Team, Following up after 3 months. I've tested the Date Range workaround extensively and it does not work for Weekly/Quarterly/Yearly bars on Intraday Chart Only: Problem: Setting Date Range to week/quarter/year start does not create calendar-aligned bars. Question: Is there a working method to achieve calendar-aligned Quarterly/Yearly bars on Intraday Chart Only, or is this functionality not currently supported? Thanks for clarification. This is not currently supported, hence the reason for the "Workaround" that was given previously. This thread was already noted as a Feature Request. We can not say when we would get to any particular request. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
