Multiple Instances and Using only the main data folder

I know chartbooks don't sync across instances. But, as a workaround I want to open a chart in (for example) Instance 2 that is Not open in any other instance, but I change the folder path to open it from the Main data folder C:\SierraChart\Data then make changes in the chartbook (drawing, new charts etc) and then save/close the chartbook. Then I go to Instance 3 and open that changed chartbook from the same C:\SierraChart\Data folder. It comes up with the changes the way I want it to.

I realize that each instance has it's own folder for multi-threading/performance. So my question is will the behavior I described mess with the architecture for this multi-threading multi-core efficiency or is this a legitimate workaround to porting the same chartbooks between instances on a daily basis?

Thanks!

There are too many possible issues with this that we can only say that you should not do it. You should keep each instance separate and have their own 'Data' folder. The solution is then to actually copy the chartbook between the instances.
