setup: single/common SC app instance two different chartbooks within the above SC instance in each of the chartbooks, there is a chart which references common SC spreadsheet study with already programmed and saved formulas obviously the chart numbers of each such chart is the same in both chart books the question: the only differnce between the two charts is the bar scale e.g. 4R one of the charts and 10R in the other chart in the other chart book Does the SC app use differnt independent instances (in the runtime memory) of the common spredsheet study, which would mean that even though the chart numbers are the same across the two differnt chart books, the spreadsheet study in one of the charts would be using $R bars and in the other 10R bars in terms of the data in the spreadsheet (obviously the formulas are the same for both and reside in a dedicated sheet number)? |

Do not do what you are doing. This will create a conflict with the Spreadsheet Study and you will not get the correct results. It can be done, but you need to ensure that the sheets that are being referenced by the two different charts are NOT using the same sheet. There are options on the Inputs for the Spreadsheet Study to control the sheet number/name that is to be used for a specific chart. Refer to the following and the 2 entries below it: Spreadsheet Study Inputs: Chart Data Output Specification Type If you want to use a common set of formulas between the two sheets, then refer to the following: Spreadsheet Study Inputs: Formula Source Sheet Specification Type For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

To avoid unwanted interaction, the spreadsheet study in each chartbook should have its own unique name, IMO.Here's an easy way to rename a spreadsheet study: https://www.sawtoothtrade.com/tip-3.html |

You can see this in action when you are viewing a spreadsheet that is shared. It will constantly save one sheet and swap in the other, so it is forcing them to be different and wasting time doing so. |

@ForgivingComputers.com - THANKS FOR THE EXTRA INSIGHT @All - fyi it seems that the data calcs are STILL CORRECT when the above setup described by me is in effect - ie despite the spreadsheet study shared between two diferent chartbooks and used by charts with identical numbers i guess there is somesort of context switching e.g. probably when one of the chartbooks is in focus the spreadsheet study only for this chartbook is activated and vice versa - hence no overalp of the output data (even when the additional measures suggested above are not applied) |
