Where is SC pulling account data from to populate the TradeActivityLogs folder and how can I remove old accounts so they no longer create .data files? I have sub-instances creating .data files for accounts I haven't traded with through SC in 5+ years. And before you respond with that data is pulled from the accounts server (likely true) I'm talking about brokerage accounts I haven't even made a connection to in years still populating 1KB .data files in the TradeActivityLogs folders. Thanks trying to do some house cleaning |

This data comes from actual current trading activity. This is all. Or historical order fills for active trading accounts, that are downloaded from the trading server in some cases. Only you can answer what the problem is rather than us. We do not know. So why is this the case?: I have sub-instances creating .data files for accounts I haven't traded with through SC in 5+ years. We do not know. Does not make sense to us. So you need to look at the Trade Activity Log, and see what is in those files for that account. What is there? See attached I have many SC instances (example here is Instance 2) with various older account numbers. These are sub-instances running DTC so one would think only pulling data / historical records from main instance. How can I prevent the ...None.data and older xxxx1234.data, etc accounts from creating all these unnecessary files? Some of my TradeActivityLogs (sub instances) have 4000+ 1KB extra files. Are all trades stored on Sierra Charts trading servers? Is this what you are referring to as the trade server? Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-08-16 22:55:19

We see. The account that starts with F, exists in one or more of the charts. And then it is causing the global trade account, used for certain types of logging like connections and disconnections from the servers, to be set. We have to think about this. For now we will just remove the Trade Account from those particular Trade Activity Log entries.
