Hi,

I really like Thomas DeMark's Trading the Nines indicator. It's incredibly useful when longer time frame charts are on 7,8,9 counts however if I put it on a smaller time frame like 1 min it doesn't show CURRENT count!

Please add option of displaying the last bar's number. Picture shows this problem in action. If I want to have signal 3 bars up in a row IF the 15 min bar 's Sell Count is >=3 it won't work since the current bar's value of 15min Trading the Nines is 0 or null.

I also created a text display of multiple time frame's count however the most recent ones are all empty due to this problem. This really is a great way of finding multi time frame trades both trend and counter trend but as of now we can't use it on other time frames.

We are not understanding your question.

You are overlaying the Trading the Nines from a higher time frame chart to a lower time frame chart, and you have the option for "Fill Blanks with Last Value" to "Yes", which gives you the numbers repeating across the bars that are part of the higher time frame bar with that number.

Hi,

My point is on current 15min bar there is no number so if I wanted to see if the 15 min bar's Trading the Nines Sell Count was 5+ on the 1 min bar it shows no value for it on current 15 min bar so if I wanted 3 up bars in a row IF the 15 min bar's Trading the Nines sell count was 5+ it will never ever give any tradable signals.

From the image provided in Post #1, the bar at 16:45 does not have a number on it. Therefore, when you overlay this on the 1 minute chart, the 1 minute bars starting at 16:45 will not have a number displayed above them.

Given this, we are not understanding what you are expecting to be occurring. If the Trading the Nines is not printing a number, then that means that the bar does not meet the criteria for that study to print a number, and therefore there is no number to overlay to the other chart.

Hi,

Yes I realize a number hasn't printed because the bar has NOT closed yet however my request is the option of displaying the PREVIOUS number until the close where it would update. That way if I want to short after the 15m time frame has a 3+ sell count and 1m bar shows two UP closes in a row I can do it.

See attached picture 15m bar has a 3 sell count on 15:00 approx so on 1 min chart I manually plotted a sell signal on every two closes in a row up.

The Trading the Nines is a fantastic tool to let traders know when trends are likely to slow and often reverse making even a simple 2 bar signal a fairly high probability signal! But like I said it can't work now. I just want on the current bar to see the previous bar's count so when I add it to other time frame its there and trading signals can easily be made using longer time frame movements.

I realize the sell signal at 15:42 would disappear after because that 15m bar forms a 1 buy signal at the close but before the close would still be displaying a 4 sell count as that was previous 15 min bar's count. I'm ok with that limitation mainly want to find real time trades and realize SOME signals will disappear after the longer time frame bar closes. I could care less about this limitation.

The only option for what you are wanting to do, using the built-in options, would be to use the "Displacement" option to move the data forward and have it display on those forward bars. But this means that when the numbers update, the new number will be displayed in the forward projection area.

The other option is to modify the code for the "Trading the Nimes" study, which is available in the "Studies6.cpp" file under the "ACS_Source" folder under your main Sierra Chart installation folder. Refer to the following:
