past candles changing based on a new candle forming

Hi i was trading a 2 day chart yesterday, and went to review my trade today and to my surprise all the candles were different, as if a new 2 day candle formed and changed all the past candles, why did this happen? i just happened to record yesterdays trade, so it screenshot it for comparison. but i am not able to upload it thanks

For this chart, what is "Chart >> Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Chart Data Type" set to? And which image reflects what you are currently seeing? HI John, data setting is intraday chart. the gold 2 day chart was the current image on Thursday, I am viewing this again on Saturday and it looks like the first image from Wednesday, Thanks |

What exactly is different? We need this in detailed text format. Just one example only. It is impossible for us to tell from screenshots. We cannot do that. We can only tell if we have the actual charts within Sierra Chart and can use the Chart Values tool. But we need to be told where to look. Certainly past candles will change prices when using the back adjusted, continuous contract options and there is a new contract month. Hi, thanks for the reply, if you look at the most recent 5 candles on the screenshot "gold 2 day chart" was taken Wednesday & compare them to "gold 2 day chart pic 2" Thursday, the last 5 candles are different, open & closed different, same chart, same timeframe, same everything but candles change, Thankyou

At this point, the one thing we can state is that the data from the image named 'gold 2 day chart.JPG' is correct. We can get a chart that matches that information. We really can not say what may have occurred last Thursday, particularly if the data is looking correct at this point in time for you. At this point, we would need to see if this occurs again and then see what is happening while you have the data that is not correct showing. Please let us know if you see this again.
