SC, IMHO, you have gone above and beyond with respect to Order Types. There are a myriad of Order Types to choose from. You'd have to wonder how anyone could find a reason to request another, yet I seem to have found one. I'd like to ask that you consider adding a "Stop Limit Chase", or "Stop Chase" if you prefer (though we know the order will be converted from a Stop to a Limit at the exchange). We have a Limit Chase, and we have a Stop Limit, but not a Stop Limit Chase which would follow the market until it reverses in the intended trade direction. My thinking is that if you've constructed a Limit that can chase, you can use the same functionality to construct a Stop Limit that also chases. I can set up a Custom Trading Keyboard Shortcut to get a Stop orderwith an Offset, which is what I want, but it is static. It does not follow the market. I have to continually Flatten and Cancel, then reinitiate.... I tend to work in fast moving markets. I'm not interested in placing a limit order at a specific price hoping the market will reverse at that specific number. The market may not reverse at all, or may not reverse in a given "window" I've determined to be a Support or Resistance area. By utilizing a Stop Limit Chase along with an offset I can initiate an order while the market is still approaching my level and monitor for the reversal. If the market pushes to far in the opposite direction I can remove the order. If/When the market reaches my level and reverses, the stop order is triggered and filled. As always, I appreciate your consideration. |
