There is an option to control this in the Chart Drawing properties for the Ray drawing. It is: Show Abbreviations: Yes/No Make sure you are running a current version of Sierra Chart. Is "Text Vertical Alignment" backwards? For Text Horizontal Alignment it controls where the TEXT is placed relative to the ray. For Text Vertical Alignment Below, I would expect the TEXT to be Below the line.

No it is not backwards. It means the point at which it is placed, is at the bottom of the text.
