I currently have a time-based chart open with 3 different volume studies, each one showing me volume from different sized traders: - Volume Study 1: Filtered to show trades of 1-99 lots - Volume Study 2: Filtered to show trades of 100-199 lots - Volume Study 3: Filtered to show trades of 200+ lots The way I achieved this was opening 3 additional charts and filtering the volume on them using: Chart Settings >> Data Limiting >> Volume Filter Settings. I then used "Study/Price Overlay" to display the Volume from those 3 charts onto a single chart, as explained above. This works great for time-based charts. However, I run into issues when using volume-based charts or tick-based charts. I have included screenshots below to demonstrate the issue I'm facing. It would be amazing if there was a study which would allow us to filter the volume at a "study level" instead of having to filter the volume at a "chart level", and then overlay it onto a separate chart. |

There is no reason why the volume filtering would not work with a non-time-based chart. What you are seeing is due to a single trade occurring that takes up multiple quantities of 500. So this is correct for how you have the information displayed. If you want to view a chart that does not split records, so that you will see 500 volume when it can, but then will show more volume if there is a single trade that is not split into smaller volumes, then refer to the following setting: Chart Settings: Split Data Records (applies to Number of Trades, Volume and Range charts) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Data >> Chart Data menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
