Log of Changes and Improvements to Sierra Chart

This list contains major items of development, and changes and additions which users need to be informed about.

This is not a comprehensive changes and additions log. And it should never be relied upon for such. It only represents a very small percentage of the actual development being performed every day. The vast majority of development is not documented here. Or receives, one small comment after it is all complete. There are not version notes for each version. The main Sierra Chart documentation is updated as needed relating to the changes and additions.

The maintenance of this page has mostly been abandoned by Sierra Chart development for many years due to the difficulty of maintaining it and because users can be incorrectly misled by or misinterpret notes that are made here. This does not change, the development of Sierra Chart which is very active every day and new releases are made nearly weekly or several times a week. The Sierra Chart project is still very active, with extensive development and it remains a very high quality software in the world. The engineering is at the very top of the world.

  • 902 Release Date: 2012-09-24

    • Reconfigured how Service Order IDs are handled when using the Rithmic trading service. It is highly recommended that you update ASAP when using Rithmic.
    • Improved the process by which the custom studies DLL compiler is invoked so that Sierra Chart does not block while it is running. These changes also should allow it to work properly on other operating systems such as Linux. To access the custom studies DLL compiler, select Analysis >> Build Advanced Custom Studies DLL.
    • Resolved an issue when using the TransAct trading service where under certain conditions when Attached Orders are transmitted to TransAct, they could be subsequently marked as canceled for a period of time when they were actually working orders. This would cause the OCO functionality not to work for that period of time.
    • It is now supported to programmatically specify all of the available Attached Order types and the associated offsets for them in an ACSIL trading system. The Move to Breakeven actions are also supported. For code examples, refer to scsf_TradingExample1WithAdvancedAttachedOrders and scsf_TradingExample2WithAdvancedAttachedOrders in the /ACS_Source/TradingSystem.CPP file. For complete documentation, refer to s_SCNewOrder.
    • Added additional logging when interacting with the TransAct trading service. Included new TransAct trade order API.
    • Resolved a stability issue when using the TransAct trading service and performing trading or when disconnecting from the market data and trade servers. It is recommended you update ASAP.
    • Corrected some issues with the new Historical Daily data support from FXCM. It is highly recommended after updating this version and you are using the FXCM Trading service, that you go to your Historical Daily charts and refresh them with Edit >> Delete All Data And Download. This only needs to be done once for each symbol. There is a small adjustment made to the date stamping of bars to make them more correct.
    • With the ACSIL Order Action functions, such as sc.BuyEntry, we no longer set sc.Subgraph[23].Arrays[4-7][] array indexes with the order quantities processed. This is considered out of date functionality for quite some time and has now been permanently removed. If you have any dependency on this in your custom trading study, you will need to remove the dependency. All of our code examples in /ACS_Source/TradingSystem.CPP have not used these arrays for some time.
    • Improved support for changing the symbol of a chart that uses a Remote Chart Data file. Most of the standard methods to change the symbol of the chart can now be used. For example, you can go into Chart >> Chart Settings and change the Symbol there and the chart will still refer to the remote instance of Sierra Chart that it was previously referring to.
    • New Trade DOM Coloring Options have been added. The following new Graphics Settings have been added for the ChartDOM and TradeDOM:
      Global Settings >> Graphic Settings:
      • ChartDOM/TradeDOM Buy Column Background - when enabled, specifies the background color of the Buy column.
      • ChartDOM/TradeDOM Sell Column Background - when enabled, specifies the background color of the Sell column.
      • ChartDOM/TradeDOM Bid Column Background - when enabled, specifies the background color of the Bid column. This option is also used when the bid/ask columns are combined, and when the Buy/Bid columns are combined.
      • ChartDOM/TradeDOM Ask Column Background - when enabled, specifies the background color of the Ask column.
      • ChartDOM/TradeDOM Ask Depth Background - when enabled, specifies the background color of ask depth entries.
      • ChartDOM/TradeDOM Bid Depth Background - when enabled, specifies the background color of bid depth entries.
Note: The above new entries need to be enabled. In the Graphic Settings dialog, there is a new "Enable" checkbox, that allows the user to enable/disable the option.
    • New option in Volume By Price study: Draw Profile Enclosing Bars Outline - when enabled, a dotted line will be drawn around the bars contributing to the profile.
    • The Volume By Price study now supports Peak and Valley lines. New options include Draw Peaks & Valleys and Peaks & Valleys Sensitivity. The sensitivity controls the number of price levels around the current price to check if the volume at price is a peak or valley. The Peaks and Valleys colors are controlled with the Peaks & Valleys subgraph.
    • The Numbers Bars Calculated Values study now draws in a separate Chart Region. By default this will be Chart Region 2. This is instead of at the bottom of Chart Region 1. If you have any other studies on the chart, you will need to move those studies to another Chart Region so they do not overlap the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study. A Font Size setting has also been added to allow the default font size to be changed.
    • The Numbers Bars Calculated Values study now supports Daily Range and Weekly Range calculated values.
    • New Option for Trading: Profit/Loss Text study: Round Turn Commission To Include which optionally allows the commission to be included in the PL calculations.
    • Chart Drawings can now be locked. When locked, the drawing can not be deleted, moved, or adjusted. The drawing can be locked with the lock button in the Drawing properties dialog or from the Manage Chart Drawings window. The lock/unlock command can also be added to the Chart Drawing Context Menu via Global Settings >> Customize Chart Drawing Menu.
    • Many new low-level improvements, additions and minor issues corrected.
  • 895 Release Date: 2012-09-08

    • Support for historical Daily data from the FXCM Trading service. Up to 20 years of historical Daily data is available direct from FXCM when you have selected the FXCM Trading service in Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings. To be able to use the FXCM Trading service, you need either a Live or Demo account with FXCM. If you are using the FXCM Trading service, then to ensure that you can access the historical Daily data directly from FXCM after updating to this version or higher, select Global Settings >> Symbol Settings on the menu. Press the Update From Server button. Press OK. When you have a Historical Daily or higher timeframe chart displayed, then to ensure that the chart contains only data from the FXCM service select Edit >>Delete All Data And Download on the menu. This only needs to be done once for each each symbol.
    • When Global Settings >> Chart Trade Settings >> Working Orders >> Draw Order Association Lines is enabled, then there will be lines connecting child working orders on the chart/Trade DOM to parent orders and lines connecting working orders in the same OCO Group on the chart/Trade DOM.
    • Rectangle / Extending Rectangle Chart Drawings now support the Modify Text command in a similar fashion to Horizontal Line/Ray Chart Drawings.
    • New Study: Account Balance - External Service.
    • New Intraday Bar Period Type: Delta Volume Bars. A new bar is formed when the delta volume (Ask Volume - Bid Volume) exceeds the configured bar value. This bar type will only work if there is Bid Volume and Ask volume available for the symbol.
    • New Color Options for Numbers Bars Study. There are now separate color options that have been added for Volume and Trades Numbers Bars.
    • Various low-level improvements and additions.
  • 892 Release Date: 2012-08-27

    • The scroll wheel on pointing devices such as a mouse will now increase or decrease the order quantity on the Order Quantity and Price editing window used to change the quantity of a working order or the quantity in the Chart Trade Mode box at the top left of the chart.
    • Corrected a problem from a recent release where when there are multiple fills that occur for a parent order that has Attached Orders, the Attached Orders quantities may not have been set to the full quantity of the parent order. This would occur if there were multiple fills of the parent order during the time that the Attached Orders were the process of being accepted by the external trading service. This issue would only occur with live trading.
    • Added a new input to the Daily OHLC study named Display on Day Session Only (regular trading hours). When this input is set to yes and the Daily OHLC lines are based only on the day session, then they will be only displayed on the bars in the chart for the day session.
    • Various low-level improvements and additions.
  • 890 Release Date: 2012-08-24

    • Added the input Bar Time Matching Method to the Study/Price Overlay study. The input choices are Nearest or Containing. This allows for a nearest time match between the source and destination bars, or a containing match. A containing match means that the destination bar will contain the source bar time.
    • When performing an automated trading system back test consisting of multiple charts by using For All Charts in Chartbook on the Chart Replay window and Accurate Auto Trade System Back Test Mode , then a synchronized back test will be performed. The dependency between the charts is determined and the calculations are done in the proper order. This ensures consistency and accuracy. The back testing of multiple charts is by default done in steps of 60 seconds at a time. When you start a multiple chart back test, you will be prompted for this time increment.
    • Reversed the order of the descriptive name and Symbol in the Find Symbol window.
    • Alerts for chart drawings can now be pre-configured for Lines, Rays, Extended Lines, Horizontal Lines, Horizontal Rays, Rectangles, and Extended Rectangles. To edit/save alert settings, edit the appropriate Tool Config, and use the Alert "A" button in the lower left to bring up the Alert window. Once saved, new drawings using the configuration will use the saved Alert settings.
    • Bar Duration added to Numbers Bars Calculated Values study.
    • DOM column settings now support combined Bid/Buy and Ask/Sell columns Global Settings >> Customize Chart/Trade DOM Columns. When combined, the column will display the bid/ask sizes and allow order entry within the column. The pending order sizes will not be displayed in the column, but are still displayed in the order line.
    • Improvements to Chart Data File Sharing. It is now possible to open a chart from another running copy of Sierra Chart through File >> Find Symbol. There is a list box at the top of this window which allows you to select another running copy of Sierra Chart.
    • Various low-level improvements and additions.
  • 888 Release Date: 2012-08-18

    • Heiken Ashi Smoothed
    • Various low-level improvements and additions.
  • 887 Release Date: 2012-08-16

    • Numbers Bars Calculated Values study now supports an option to show the calculated values for the pullback column.
    • The Study/Price Overlay study has several internal improvements. There is now a new Data Copy Mode Input for a study or a price graph. You can choose to copy the data from the earliest bar in the corresponding timeframe in the source chart onto the destination chart, or you can copy the data from the latest bar in the corresponding timeframe in the source chart onto the destination chart.
    • Updated the TransAct API file. This resolves a problem where reconnects to the TransAct system would occur too frequently. Additionally, when an internal reconnect to TransAct occurs, Sierra Chart no longer performs a full disconnect and reconnect.
    • Improvements with the opening and using of Remote Chart Data Files. The specific copy of Sierra Chart that a remote chart data file is opened from, will be automatically started if it is not, when the chartbook containing the remote chart data file is opened. Also, the other copy of Sierra Chart that the remote chart data file originates from will automatically request the data for the symbol of the remote chart data file. These changes will only apply for remote chart data files that are newly opened with this version or higher.
    • Various low-level improvements and additions.
  • 882 Release Date: 2012-08-08

    • When processing fills with Trading Technologies spread symbols, the individual leg fill reports are now filtered out. Only the summary fill reports are processed. Previously these were processed and this caused problems with the fill quantity, and fill prices.
    • Updated the interface to TransAct for trading and order processing.
    • Updated the interface to CTS T4.
    • Updated support for multiple Trade Position subaccount numbers when using Interactive Brokers. This is to provide a consolidated view of positions across those subaccounts when using a Financial Advisor account.
    • Numbers Bars study now supports a configurable pullback column, which displays the values since the last bar High or Low was made.
    • Added the DaysInDateSpanNotIncludingWeekends function to ACSIL. This function returns the number of weekdays within the given date span, including both the FirstDate and the LastDate. Neither Saturdays nor Sundays are counted. Refer to the SCDateTime documentation page for more information.
    • Various low-level improvements and additions.
  • 881 Release Date: 2012-08-01

    • When a study is projected forward, it is now possible to use the Chart Values tool and the Tool Values window to see the projected values of the study subgraphs in the right side fill space on the chart.
    • Various improvements to the handling of IB position data. The synchronization of the Sierra Chart maintained Internal Positions data to the Trade Service positions from Interactive Brokers is now instantaneous.
    • In versions prior to 880 each individual chart was updated independently. The order in which they would be updated would be random. Beginning with version 880 and 881, there is a central method to update all charts and the order in which all charts are updated and calculated is based upon a dependency they have between each other. For example, if you have applied the Study/Price Overlay study to chart 1 and it makes a reference to chart 2, when the charts are updated/calculated, chart 2 will be calculated first. This change is especially important with automated trading systems that have dependency on other charts. There will be continued improvements with this over the coming week to ensure the best accuracy and consistency with automated trading system replay back testing.
    • Various low-level improvements.
  • 879 Release Date: 2012-07-26

    • The Triggered Trailing Stop order type has been removed and the Trade Window configurations which use this type are now updated to use the previous Triggered Trailing Stop 2 order type. Triggered Trailing Stop 2 has now been renamed to Triggered Trailing Stop. The previous Triggered Trailing Stop 2 order type supports all of the same functionality as the previous Triggered Trailing Stop and can be used in its place.
    • Added new step trailing stops which trail the market in steps of the trailing offset or the specified step amount rather than based upon the tick by tick price movement of the symbol being traded. The stops are: Step Trailing Stop, Step Trailing Stop Limit , Triggered Step Trailing Stop , Triggered Step Trailing Stop Limit. Refer to Order Types for complete documentation.
    • Added new stats interface to ACSIL, sc.GetTradeStatisticsForSymbol, which allows a study to query the current Trade Statistics for the chart. The user can select Sim or Non-Sim, and Daily or All. Some items in the s_ACSTradeStatistics struct are calculated values and have routines to call instead of struct fields (see the struct definition).
    • Added Transparent Label Background option to CountDownTimer study.
    • Numbers Bars study new features:
      • Now supports multiple columns, allowing the study user to set the order and content of each column.
      • Background coloring of each column can also be configured.
      • Text coloring for Bid/Ask now has an option for auction comparisons (Bid vs Ask at next level).
      • Volume Profile can be an outline only.
      • Volume Profile can be stretched across all columns or be its own column.
      • Bold Bid/Ask text based Bid/Ask Volume Threshold level.
      • Volume based coloring has new options to gradient color based on % of volume.
    • Numbers Bars Calculated Values study can now set the background color of the text including an option for transparencyt.
    • Ongoing improvements to the Trade Window. The quantity button that matches the current order quantity for the Trade Window, is now highlighted. This is especially important on the compact tab of the Trade Window.
  • 877 Release Date: 2012-07-14

    • Keyboard Shortcuts are now user customizable via Global Settings >> Customize Keyboard Shortcuts. In the customize window, you can navigate to menu commands, see what shortcut is currently set (if any), remove an individual setting, assign a new setting, reset all shortcuts, or reset to the defaults. The keyboard shortcuts are maintained as a separate config file named KeyboardShortcuts.config in the Sierra Chart program folder.
    • Completed development of the enhancements to Trade Window and Attached Orders. There is a new tab on the Trade Window labeled C. This is a more compact tab with only the essential trading controls. When you select this tab, the Trade Window automatically becomes smaller. Added in version 874: New Stop order types have been added including new Stop-Limit orders. The Move to Breakeven functionality has been enhanced and can now be applied to any of the Attached Stop orders.
    • We have completed testing of the new FIX message processing functionality used with Trading Technologies. We did not encounter any issues.
  • 875 Release Date: 2012-07-10

    • When calling sc.GetServicePosition, the only members of the s_SCPositionData structure that are set are as follows: Symbol, PositionQuantity, AveragePrice. For simplicity, position reporting reliability and overall better organization, we have removed everywhere the concept of two sets of position data, the Internal Positions and the Service Positions. There is now is just the Internal Positions. You still see the Service positions on the Orders and Positions window, but that is only used for reference purposes when necessary. You should be using sc.GetInternalPosition from now on. sc.GetServicePosition will only work for live trading. However, we no longer recommend using it. It is not needed unless you set Global Settings >> Trade Settings >> Synchronize Service and Internal Positions.
  • 874 Release Date: 2012-07-07

    • A new option has been added to Global Settings >> Chart Trade Settings to allow modification of working orders on the chart by left clicking the order, releasing the pointer button, moving the order, and then left clicking again to set the new location. This is an alternative to the default click, hold and then drag method.
    • Various enhancements to Attached Orders on the Trade Window. New Stop order types have been added including new Stop-Limit orders. The Move to Breakeven functionality has been enhanced and can now be applied to any of the Attached Stop orders. A Limit Touch Chase order type has been added and can be used as an Attached Order. With this order type, the chase functionality only begins when the order is touched by the last trade price.
    • Various low-level enhancements to the Trade Window.
    • The connection to the Trading Technologies Trading platform service now uses the new Sierra Chart FIX processing engine/functionality. This is still relatively new and is considered still in the testing phases which will be completed over the next week. The advantages of the new Sierra Chart FIX processing functionality is significantly reduced CPU load, the user interface does not freeze when connecting and disconnecting to the servers, and improved logging and troubleshooting.
    • More accurate Intraday chart volume data when using the Trading Technologies Trading platform service.
    • New members added to sc interface for Renko bar type:
      • sc.RenkoTicksPerBar - Set to number of ticks in Renko bar (zero if bar type is not Renko).
      • sc.AreRenkoBars() - Call to check if bar type is Renko, returns zero if not Renko.
    • When in Trade Simulation Mode, the user can now control which order fills are used/displayed on a chart. The choices are Non-Simulation (Live), Simulation, Replay, and Backtest. A new chart header field is displayed indicating which order fills are being used. This setting controls which filled order drawings are drawn, and which fills are used for Trade Statistics and Trading studies on the chart. This is controlled in one of three ways: Trade menu using Trade >> Simulation Fills Source, new ToolBar buttons corresponding to the menu items, or by clicking on the Fill Source field in the chart header.
  • 871 Release Date: 2012-06-27

    • Period sorted trade statistics are shown on the new Period Trade Stats tab of the Trade >> Trade Activity Log. The supported periods include Hour of Day, Half Hour of Day, Day of Week, Month of Year, Daily, Weekly, and Monthly. The statistics are based on the fills being displayed on the Trade Activity tab.
    • Replay and BackTest fills are now treated separately in the Trade Activity Log. This results in four types of fills that are tracked: Non-Simulated (Live), Simulation, Replay, and BackTest.
    • Corrected an issue where the Daily Profit/Loss value on charts and Trade DOMs was not resetting at the start of a new day.
    • Improved upon the processing of Interactive Brokers True Real-Time Bar data. When Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> More Interactive Brokers Settings >> Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts is not enabled, then Sierra Chart only supports true real-time data from IB in a chart when using the -TD suffix on a symbol. Everything will be the same as earlier versions. When Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts is enabled, then Interactive Brokers True Real-time Bar data will be recorded in all charts no matter what the symbol, if this type of data is available for the symbol. The way that the recording of the True Real-Time Bar data works is that the chart bars will update every 5 seconds using this true real-time data feed. The time and sales, market depth, current quote data, and last trade price box on the right side of the chart are updated as the standard IB market data feed provides data. So you will have fast updates with time and sales, market depth, current quote data, and the last trade price box and 5 second updates with chart bars.

The advantage of enabling Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts , is that the Open, High, Low, and Close values for each bar in the chart are now accurate and the Volume for each bar is accurate as well. Whereas when this option is disabled, all of these values are less precise.
    • Various low-level enhancements.
  • 870 Release Date: 2012-06-23

    • Renamed the study High/Low for Time Period to High/Low for Time Period - Extended.
    • Added a new study named High/Low for Time Period. This study is the same as High/Low for Time Period - Extended , except that it does not extend the High and Low lines forward to the end of the session. They only span the defined time period.
    • Improvements with market data processing for the PFG Best trading service.
    • Various low-level enhancements.
  • 868 Release Date: 2012-06-17

    • Second revision: Corrected an issue from the prior release where on a Trade DOM the Daily Profit/Loss value would not indicate trades made during the day before the Trade DOM was opened.
    • Added support for Interactive Brokers to request missing order fills for the past 3 days. This will ensure you have a complete log of fills in the Trade >> Trade Activity Log for fills that occurred when Sierra Chart was not running.
    • When downloading historical Tick data from DTN IQ Feed, quote recording suffixes like -BID will cause the historical bars to be based upon those suffixes.
    • The color of all buttons on the Trade Window can now be configured through Global Settings >> Graphics Settings. The color settings begin with "Chart Trade Window".
    • A new option has been added to the Rectangle, Extended Rectangle, and Line Tool Configuration windows. You can now change the color and style when a Rectangle or Line drawing is touched or crossed by the price bars. The color and style to switch to is specified through the Tool Configuration for the particular drawing tool. Therefore, you can have a Rectangle drawing that is set up to switch to the appearance of another Tool configuration when it is touched or crossed by the price bars. For example, when the bars hit or cross a Rectangle, the outline color/style, fill color, and transparency are set to the settings contained in the selected Rectangle Tool Configuration. This event can trigger one time.
    • When using multiple instances of the Volume by Price study and the profiles are aligned to the right side of the chart, each profile on the right side will be drawn one after another and they will not overlap. There is nothing special to do. This happens automatically.
    • Added new ACSIL member sc.Protect, which when set will disable other studies from getting the study's sc.Subgraph[].Data values. This also includes Spreadsheet studies from accessing the data.
    • Various low-level enhancements.
  • 867 Release Date: 2012-06-08

    • With the Interactive Brokers Trading service, if the True Data market data feed stops, this is detected within 10 seconds and will be restarted.
    • With the Interactive Brokers Trading service, now when the option Record True Real Time Data In Intraday Charts is unchecked, then -TD symbols will work as they did previous to version 863 and non-TD symbols will only record the standard market data feed. TD Intraday charts will only record the True Data real-time data feed when this option is disabled. The standard Interactive Brokers data feed will not be recorded to the TD Intraday data files.
    • Added to ACSIL sc.Input[].DisplayOrder which allows for the display order of study Inputs to be changed without changing array indexes.
    • New option has been added to double extend an Extending Rectangle tool drawing. When double extended, the adjustment of a drawing is done by selecting the top or bottom line instead of the ends of a normal rectangle. If you select the middle, then the entire rectangle will be moved. You will also be able to use the chart drawing menu options to extend rectangle <-> extended rectangle <-> double extended rectangle.
    • Significant improvements to the FIX connection to the PFG Trading service. During the process of connecting, the user interface no longer will go into a freeze condition.
  • 863 Release Date: 2012-06-03

    • This version higher now supports True Data for all IB symbols whether or not -TD is appended to the symbol or not. To use this feature, enable Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> More Interactive Brokers Settings >> Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts .

In this version higher, if you are using -TD symbols, it is essential that you enable Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> More Interactive Brokers Settings >> Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts , in order to continue to receive true bar data in these charts. Otherwise, the updating of the charts will be normal updating and not contain true data.

When you have enabled Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts , the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit will always be at least 5 seconds. It cannot be less and a lower setting will be overridden. In the case where you will want to have an Intraday Data Storage Time Unit that is less than 5 seconds and you wish to use the Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts feature for some charts, you will need to install a second copy of Sierra Chart. This copy needs to have Record True Real-Time Data in Intraday Charts disabled and then you can set the Intraday Data Storage Time Unit to a lower setting in that copy of Sierra Chart.
    • Improvements to the internal calculations of trade position Run-Up/Drawdown and Maximum Open Position Profit and Loss.
    • Continued development with the Trade Window.
    • Various low level additions, changes and improvements.

    • Redesigned Trade Window. Continued development with the Trade Window and Attached Orders is ongoing.
    • When performing a replay back test, the High, Low, and Close values of the underlying data records in the data file are now all used to fill orders. Therefore, no price data is missed.
    • Resolved a problem with IQ Feed where historical Daily data downloaded may not be applied to the proper data file. This issue only potentially affects Historical Daily charts, not Intraday charts, and only occurs if you have a historical Daily chart open for an invalid symbol.
    • Improvements to the Copy Chart Drawings feature to copy chart drawings from one chart to another chart.
    • Added the ACSIL sc.OpenChartOrGetChartReference() function for ACSIL to open a chart matching the provided parameters.

    • Various low level additions, changes and improvements.
  • 855 Release Date: 2012-05-17

    • Corrected an issue where when downloading historical Intraday Forex data from the Barchart Data service or Sierra Chart Historical Data service, the bar timestamps were off by one hour. This is now resolved.
    • When applying changes from the Chart >> Chart Settings window, the chart data is only reloaded if you made a change to a setting which requires a reload of the data. Otherwise, the chart data will not be reloaded. This is much more efficient.
    • Corrected a problem from a recent release where when you open a new Intraday chart, and historical Tick data is being downloaded, the data would not be written to the data file with some Data and Trading services. You would receive an "Access is Denied" message relating to the Intraday data file.
    • The TPO Profile Chart study and the Volume by Price study fully support labeling of the Value Area and Point of Control extension lines. This is enabled through the Value Label settings for the Value Area and Point of Control Color subgraphs on the Subgraphs tab of the Study Settings window. When you use Left or Right label alignment, then labels will be drawn on all prior profiles as well as lines that go to the right side of the chart window.
    • Improved the algorithm for identifying whether a trade is at the bid or ask. This is used to set bid volume and ask volume.
    • Added commands to Window menu: Minimize/Restore Detached Chart Windows.
    • The Numbers Bars study has a new Input setting to adjust the width of the background box for each price level in a Numbers Bar based upon the volume of that price level compared to the total volume of the bar.
    • Added Bid/Ask Size Filters to the Time and Sales Window.
    • The Last Trade P/L has been removed from the Internal and Simulated Positions tab of the Trade Orders and Positions window. For this data, use the Trades tab of the Trade >> Trade Activity Log. The corresponding column is Profit/Loss. In order to avoid confusion and inconsistencies, this field has been removed because it was an older field that has been replaced by the data in the Trades tab in the Trade Activity Log and the calculation and matching method was different than we use on the Trades list.
    • Various low level additions, changes and improvements.
  • 852 Release Date: 2012-05-10

    • Added a new Input setting to the TPO Profile Chart study named "Number of TPO Profile Periods". The choices are: "Multiple Periods Fixed by Time", "One Period Of Fixed Time Length at End", "From Start Time To End", "From Start Date-Time + Time Length", "From Start Date-Time To End Date-Time". There are an additional two inputs for setting the TPO Profile Start and End Date-Time in the study Input list as well.
    • Resolved an issue with the Chart >> Perform Future Symbol Rollover feature that prevents chart data for the next contract from being downloaded and the rollover function not completing. This occurs when the symbol being rolled over to, is already being used in another chart.
    • New option in Global Trade Settings to include Open Profit/Loss in the Chart / Trade DOM Daily Profit/Loss display. When turned on, Net Profit/Loss is displayed (NPL).
    • New field in Trade Statistics for Charts tab of the Trade Activity Log, showing Daily Net Profit/Loss (Daily Profit/Loss plus Open Profit/Loss).
    • New Reward/Risk drawing tool.
    • Various low level additions, changes and improvements.
  • 850 Release Date: 2012-05-05

    • When using the Jump Forward button on the Replay Window when the replay is running or when the replay is in a Paused state and you are at the end of the chart, a reload of the chart data no longer occurs. The maximum amount of historical Tick data will be requested and included in the chart data file. Prior to that, the historical data will consist of Minute data. There is nothing special you need to do for this feature. This all works automatically. However, one thing that you can do is select File >> Data/Trade Service Settings on the menu and increase the Maximum Historical Intraday Days to Download to the number of days that you require. One thing to be aware of with this method of downloading is that during the download process, you will not see the bars immediately appear on the chart, they will appear after the download is completed.
