Hi There,

I need to have previous day RTH volume profile on the left side of the screen. I read the documentation and checked the examples but the one for it doesnt work since it expect some volume percantage. Is there a way to get it?

Thanks

Setup your Volume Profile using the settings at the following example:
Volume By Price Study: 1 Day Volume Profiles Showing Prior Day'

If you are questioning the "Minimum Time Period % for Reference Days Back", then refer to the information for this at the following link:
Volume By Price Study: Minimum Time Period % for Reference Days Back

I use ETH as a chart time but want to see RTH volume profile as previous day's. Is that possible?

There is not a way to get an RTH volume profile on a chart that is strictly ETH.

Ok, I use ETH one for the previous day. One thing I notice is that it freezes the SC application when I Click Apply button in the Study menu. I just followed Volume By Price Study: 1 Day Volume Profiles Showing Prior Day and my intraday chart day period is 2 days only, first time I have seen in my SC experience. Same thing happens when I enable/disable"Show Order Fills" option. Do you have any idea?

Note = my pc is pretty high configuration so it shouldn't related with it.

If you are trying to do this on a Cryptocurrency or other very highly traded item then it could just be that the processing of the Volume Profile is going to take some time. You should consider increasing the value for the Ticks per Volume Bar in order to reduce the overall processing for the profile.

The "Show Order Fills" should not cause any issues with the system freezing up.

It's ES E-mini but it doesn't make sense to see the freeze when I add second volume profile by following your suggestion https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=141&Name=Volume_by_Price#1DayVolumeProfilesShowingPriorDay. Again chart data period is only 2 days and I don't have any other study for the chart. It freezes even I enable/disable simulated account. Changing Ticks per Volume Bar from 1 to 1000 even didn't work.

There is something else going on here, so we need to figure out what it is.

Do not worry about the Ticks per Volume Bar, even when set to 1 it will not be a major issue for the ES.

You stated that the system freezes when you add the Volume Profile. Please close all your Chartbooks and start a new chart for the ES and then add the Volume by Price study and see if you get the same issue.

Tested it as you asked and I realized that it freezes when I choose 3 seconds charts.

Also, I realized that the previous day's volume profile is not what I want. I want have it show either previous day's RTH or previous day's ETH. Please check the image. It starts from previous day after market close which means previous day's overnight session.

Exactly what happens when you change to a 3 second chart? Does the software completely lock up, where you can not interact at all, or can you do some things, but you re not seeing new data, or something else?

The entire app freezes couple of second and I can see “calculating study” or something like that at the upper left side of the chart. But all freezes.

Note for users having similar issue, I use "From Start Date-Time to End Date-Time" as a workaround. But you would need to update the start time and end time everyday, or have a small custom study to set it automatically.

Are you saying that it freezes for a couple of seconds and then comes back?

Yes, anyway for other users having similar issue, you can use "From Start Date-Time to End Date-Time" with a VP and choose previous day's dates manually. This is what I am doing right now and freezing has gone.
