Have active NASDAQ US stock data subscription but getting delayed data

Hi Support,

Today strangely I have not been able to get live streaming data in my sub-instance.
My quote board isn't updating in real time. "Last Time column" is always delayed.

There were a lot of messages popping up in my charts on downloading historical data on a random basis.

I will send my message log via "Send for Analysis" for your review.

The main thing we need to understand is whether you are having any issues with these particular symbols in your Main Instance. If you do not have any charts open for them in the main instance, then please open one and see if you are getting the data in the Main Instance without any problem. If you are having issues with the data in the Main Instance, then we need to see your Message Log from the Main Instance.

If you are getting the data in the Main Instance correctly, then go to the Sub-Instance where you are having the issue and for each chart that has a problem select Edit >> Delete All Data And Download. This should resolve the issue.

Hi,

I just tried to open AAPL-NQTV in my main instance.

Data was downloaded halfway and I got a timeout message in red
"Download Failed. Error downloading historical Intraday data for AAPL-NQTV. The download timed out."

I am uploading my Message Log thru "Send For Analysis"

We see the following in your log:
Socket (7) | Close event error. Windows error code 10053: An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.

This means you had a network connectivity issue. Refer to the following:

Hi John,

Thank you for your support. I have altered my firewall rules to resolve error code 10053. (Just got a new SSD hence relocated SierraChart :)

However, I seem to be see some behavior within the log that looks abnormal.
Are these normal and expected?

In the main instance of Sierra Chart we need to see the Message Log.

Follow the instructions here to clear the Message Log:

Open a chart for the symbol you have an issue with. Tell us that symbol of the chart. Just one symbol only.

Disconnect from the data feed with "File >> Disconnect".

Connect to the data feed with "File >> Connect to Data Feed".

After the connection and after about 10 seconds, provide a copy of the Message Log following these instructions:

We will then determine what the problem is.

The log shows that you are getting data for AAPL-NQTV.

The one thing we do see is the following:

When using the NASDAQ TotalView exchange with Interactive Brokers, you need to enter the Interactive Brokers symbol in the Trade and Current Quote Symbol and then enable the option for Use as Trade Only Symbol. This way, IB knows the symbol you want to trade and you get the data from our Denali feed.

Interestingly, I updated my AAPL chart in my main instance and the rest of symbols in my sub-instance quote board looks updating properly now.

Can I confirm that I do not need to alter every chart in my sub-instance?
The other thing is my sub-instance has always been in Sim On mode. Not sure if that affects anything.

You should not have to alter anything. The thing to keep in mind when you have an issue with data in the Sub-Instance is that it gets data from the Main Instance. Therefore, you would have to check the Main Instance to see if the data looks correct there or not and then correct it in the Main Instance before doing the sub-instance.

But, hopefully, you just would not have issues that require any of this.

Simulation Mode On does not make any difference to the data.

Hi Support,

It appears that my data is still delayed - AAPL chart.

Just a quick recap of what I've done following previous instructions.

I have performed the following:
When using the NASDAQ TotalView exchange with Interactive Brokers, you need to enter the Interactive Brokers symbol in the Trade and Current Quote Symbol and then enable the option for Use as Trade Only Symbol. This way, IB knows the symbol you want to trade and you get the data from our Denali feed.

However, I still observe this in my message log

Message from IB: Error validating request.-'bQ' : cause - Please enter a valid security type. IB Error Code: 321. Request ID: 4. Symbol: AAPL-NQTV | 2023-01-18 22:59:06.731

I get these messages for a lot of other symbols as well that are in my quoteboard. No way for me to enter the IB symbol and enable Trade Only Symbol as I do not have charts open.

I also observed the following:

SC DTC Data with Market Depth | Network connection to server complete. | 2023-01-18 22:59:06.992


FYI I have not subscribed to equities data with Interactive Brokers and want to solely rely on Denali for data. Hence, I am unsure of why my main instance is trying to get data from IB instead of Denali.

I trade futures only and use NASDAQ totalfeed to see the performance of the various equities.

Otherwise, we are not seeing any issues with the download of data in the log - particularly not for AAPL-NQTV.

This issue seems to be intermittent.

You need to enter the Interactive Brokers symbol for the particular instrument in the Trade and Current Quote Symbol field. Refer to the following:
Chart Settings: Trade and Current Quote Symbol (text box) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol menu)

For the above, I do not have charts opened for most of the symbols. Just have them in the quote board.

I sent a message log as part of post #12. Perhaps you can check that message log instead.

Given that the symbols are on the Quote Board, then you do not need to worry about those particular errors in the log. As long as you are not trading them, then it will not make any difference.

We have looked through the Message Logs for the Main Instance and we are not seeing anything that shows a problem with the AAPL data.

What exactly are you seeing in the Main Instance when you are having a problem. If you are having an issue in a Sub-Instance, then as we noted above, we need to look at how things are working in the Main Instance.

Hi John,

Basically I see that my AAPL chart in my main instance is delayed by a few minutes.
Same thing as my quoteboard in my sub-instance where the symbols are not updated in real time.

This has been happening on an intermittent basis though. I apologise for the number of messages.

I shall monitor this at the open today and take screenshots/videos if the problem persists.

No it is not related. One of the servers that was connected to among a group of servers is just not available to be connected to. The next one is immediately connected to after.
